In addition, a range of\u00a0competitive benefits are offered.<br \/>\nCENTRE : Head Office: Pretoria, Branch: Information Services, Chief Directorate: IT Service\u00a0Management.<\/p>\n<p>REQUIREMENTS : Representivity: Coloured, Indian, White Male \/ Female candidates are encouraged to<br \/>\napply A Degree\/ National Diploma in Information Technology\/ Computer Science or<br \/>\nan equivalent NQF level 6 is required with 1-2 years\u2019 experience in IT Desktop<br \/>\nsupport. IT Certificates A+, MCSE and\/or Netware Engineer will be an added<br \/>\nadvantage. Basic knowledge of windows operating systems. Knowledge of<br \/>\napplication support (SQL, database) or network \/server support \/information security.<br \/>\nKnowledge of hardware and software systems. Sound knowledge and application of<br \/>\nthe GITO Guidelines and prescripts. Knowledge of the State Information Technology<br \/>\nAgency Act No 88 of 1998. Knowledge of the Departmental legislation and prescripts.<br \/>\nKnowledge of the Public Service Regulatory Framework. Knowledge of Windows XP<br \/>\nand 7 and knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory \/Novell e-Directory. Customer<br \/>\nfocus, problem solving, planning, organizing and telephone etiquette. A valid drivers\u2019<br \/>\nlicence, willingness to travel extensively and working extended hours is essential On<br \/>\ncall and willingness to work overtime and shifts will be required.<\/p>\n<p>DUTIES : The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the following<br \/>\nspecific tasks: Facilitate the implementation of Installation, Move, Assemble, De-<br \/>\nInstall (IMACD) of Desktop support services in the department. Handle all logged<br \/>\ncalls accurately and timeously in line with the Service Level Agreement.Conduct<br \/>\ntrouble shooting on all queries referred by the service desk. Resolve the roots causes<br \/>\nof incidents and deploy effective workarounds. Timely identify, diagnose and resolve<br \/>\nproblems on desktop support. Resolve problem underlying problems associated with<br \/>\nthe corresponding of incidents that have occurred. Identify suitable workarounds to<br \/>\nprovide employees with service improvement while working on resolving the<br \/>\nincident.Analyse the urgency and resources required to effect temporary\/ permanent<br \/>\nsolutions to the problems. Install and configure new devices, repair and upgrades of<br \/>\nsoftware and hardware. Maintain information security and related standards.
