\nCENTRE : Western Cape<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS : An Engineering Degree, B Eng\/ BSC (Eng) or relevant qualification. Six years
\npost qualification experience required as a registered professional Engineer. Valid
\ndriver\u2019s license. Knowledge of Electrical Installations and principles.
\nUnderstanding of Mechanical systems and automation including PLC\u2019s.
\nExperience in technical management of infrastructure and facilities including
\nHVAC. Experience in Maintenance Planning\/ scheduling, Project management
\nand Personnel management. Proven strategic management & leadership skills
\nas well as analysis and reporting. Experience in financial management and
\nrelated legislation within the public sector \u0660Valid driver\u2019s license and willingness
\nto travel and work long hours with limited supervision.<\/p>\n
DUTIES : Ensure optimal maintenance planning and scheduling in accordance with
\nmaintenance policy. Collaboration with contractors on maintenance related
\nmatters to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Research and adopt
\nnew technologies to improve performance and efficiencies. Define standard
\noperating procedures for the safe and consistent operations of infrastructure.
\nTechnical management of the mechanical and electrical equipment and facilities
\nincluding HVAC and Building Management Systems. Ensure the certification of all
\nlifting and handling equipment. Ensure the proper and timely maintenance of
\nCaterpillar vehicle fleet and snow mobiles. Develop and implement the necessary
\nrecapitalization projects to ensure the adoption of new technologies to manage
\ninfrastructure on the ship and bases. Ensure the availability of drivers and dozers
\nfor Antarctic operations. Analyse and vet the maintenance work performed on the
\nship. Provide support on the recruitment process for technical personnel for
\nSANAP. Perform recruitment of the Electrical and mechanical support posts for
\nthe Islands. Develop and Implement energy efficiency management plans and
\nensure sufficient redundancy in systems. Manage the operations of waste water
\ntreatment and provide advice on improvements. Ensure all fire management
\nsystems are functioning correctly and regularly tested. Ensure the serviceability of
\nUPS\u2019s and Power Generators. Analyse reports from bases and make
\nrecommendations for improving infrastructure performance. Ensure financial
\nmanagement of the technical budget.<\/p>\n
