\nSALARY : R205 221 \u2013R506 292 per annum Level: MR5

REQUIREMENTS : An appropriate legal degree with relevant experience gained after obtaining
\nqualification coupled with valid driver\u2019s licence PLUS the following competencies,
\nKnowledge: Criminal Procedures Act; Administrative Law; Law of Evidence;
\nConstitutional Law, Acts and Regulations relevant to the Public Services;
\nResearch and Court procedures, Skills: Problem solving, ability to cross
\nexamining witnesses, ability to gather evidence, creative thinker; analyse; strong
\nability to facilitate conflicting situation; ability to interpret and apply relevant
\nlegislation, related regulations, policies and guidelines, Communication: Ability
\nto communicate at a professional manner; Liaise with stakeholders at a high
\nlevel management, Creativity: Negotiation skills; recognising conflicting evidence
\nand innovative thinking.<\/p>\n
DUTIES : Draft, review and amend legislation, policies, guidelines and other legal
\ndocuments. Conduct research and provide legal advice and opinions. Facilitate,
\nadminister and monitor the process on appeals, instructions and exemptions in
\nterms of the Mine Health and Safety Act. Be part of the mine investigation team
\non fatalities in the mines; advice the Presiding Officer during investigations and
\ninquiries; advice on matters to be submitted for further prosecution. Draft
\naffidavits for court cases; monitor the implementation of administrative justice;
\nand attend to meetings on behalf of the Department.<\/p>\n
