\nCENTRE : Johannesburg: Head Office
\nREQUIREMENTS : A three year Degree\/Diploma in Communication\/ Media Studies\/ Marketing with
\n2\u20133 years\u2019 experience in communication environment in the public sector or
\nGrade 12 with 10 years equivalent experience in communication. Knowledge and
\nunderstanding of Departmental events planning and coordination systems,
\nprocedures and processes. Knowledge of Departmental communications strategy
\npolicy, processes, promotional items and events. Skills and competencies: Good
\nproject management, report writing, communication, problem solving, planning
\norganizing, coordination, media liaison strategy, marketing, stakeholder relation
\nand relationship building skills. Good computer literacy and knowledge of
\ncomputer software programs (MS Office package). A valid driver\u2019s licence.
\nDUTIES : Render media liaison services, interact and develop relationship with media.
\nProvide information designed and packaged to meet the needs of journalists.
\nUpdate the media with current information on the organization\u2019s actions and
\nspecial events. Update media database quarterly. Disseminate communication
\ncontent to various stakeholders. Arrange and conduct press conferences for the
\nDepartment. Plan and oversee press events. Launch of a new services and
\nprogrammes (Departmental & Public). Develop new offices\/satellite offices and
\norganise sponsored events or awards. Launch organization promotional
\ncampaigns. Involvement and engagement with local\/community activities.
\nCompile responses to media enquiries. Liaise with internal and external
\nstakeholders in ensuring that media enquiries are attended to timeously. Provide
\ncommunications and administrative support to the unit. Monitor and analyse
\nreporting in the media on programmes. Provide a report on what was reported in
\nall media houses.<\/p>\n
