{"id":23552,"date":"2015-07-09T12:41:25","date_gmt":"2015-07-09T10:41:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=23552"},"modified":"2016-11-18T15:08:48","modified_gmt":"2016-11-18T13:08:48","slug":"npa-prosecutor-traineeship-programme-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/npa-prosecutor-traineeship-programme-2016.html","title":{"rendered":"NPA: Prosecutor Traineeship Programme 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>POST: ASPIRANT PROSECUTOR TRAINING SALARY: R150 384.00 \u2013 R174 525.00 (LP-1 to LP-2) per annum<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: <strong>GAUTENG<\/strong>: Benoni; Johannesburg; Pretoria; Randburg; Soweto. <strong>FREE STATE: <\/strong>Bloemfontein; Welkom. <strong>KWAZULU NATAL<\/strong>: Durban; Pietermaritzburg; Madadeni. <strong>EASTERN CAPE<\/strong>: East London; Port Elizabeth; Mthatha. <strong>WESTERN CAPE:<\/strong> George; Wynberg. <strong>LIMPOPO<\/strong>: Polokwane; Thabamoopo. <strong>NORTH WEST:<\/strong>Klerksdorp. <strong>NORTHERN CAPE: <\/strong>Kimberley.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0REQUIREMENTS<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants who are in possession of a South African LLB degree or equivalent foreign qualification certified as such by SAQA, which includes at least the following courses: Law of Evidence, Civil Procedure, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Interpretation of Statutes are invited to submit their applications to attend the above-mentioned prosecutorial training. Or final year LLB students with the courses listed above provided they would have completed the degree by commencement of the programme. Applicants must be South African Citizens up to 35 years of age, by the closing date of the advert.<\/p>\n<h3>DUTIES<\/h3>\n<p>Successful candidates once appointed will undergo a 12 months Internship programme which shall include a formal assessment at the end to determine overall compe \u2013 tency to be appointed as a Prosecutor in the NPA. On successful completion of the programme, the Aspirant Prosecutors will be appointed as Prosecutors in the District Courts responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0conducting prosecutions and attending to all matters incidental thereto;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0act as the gatekeeper of criminal law;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0represent public interest in the criminal justice process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>CONDITIONS<\/h3>\n<p>When carrying out their duties, Prosecutors are required at all times to comply with the Code of Conduct and observe Policy Directives as determined and issued by the National Director of Public Prosecutions.<\/p>\n<p>A written contract between the National Prosecuting Authority and the Aspirant Prosecutor outlining the conditions of service shall be entered into and such contract will be valid and binding between the parties.<\/p>\n<p>An entry examination will be written which will form part of the selection process and only candidates successful in the examination will be allowed to the next level of the selection process.<\/p>\n<h3>How To Apply<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants should only apply for one chosen training centre. Should an applicant apply for more than one training centre he\/she will be totally disqualified from the process. Applications must be submitted on <a class=\"apply\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dpsa.gov.za\/dpsa2g\/documents\/forms\/employ.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">form Z83, obtainable from any public service department, or www.npa.gov.za<\/a> and must be completed in full and must also be accompanied by a detailed CV (not exceeding 5 pages) together with certified copies of Qualifications or statement of results for final year students, as well as a copy of an Identity Document (failure to comply with these requirements, will result in the application being disqualified).<\/p>\n<p>Applications must reach the NPA by the closing date. Late applications will not be accepted.<\/p>\n<p>The NPA reserves the right not to fill any particular position.
