Fixed term contract from 1 August 2015 until the last day of the first full month after the Election Day (i.e. if elections are held on a day(s) in May 2016, the contract will terminate on the 30th of June 2016)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Responsibilities\/Duties<\/h3>\n<div id=\"Responsibilities\" title=\"Responsibilities\">\n<p><strong>Main responsibilities of the job<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Assist with administration of the following projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist the provincial project owner with administration of projects at provincial level<\/li>\n<li>Gathering project implementation status reports from 51 (fifty one) local offices and consolidation on a regular basis<\/li>\n<li>Monitor implementation of electoral projects at local level on electoral systems such Electoral Staff, Voters Roll, Issue tracker, Voting Station Monitoring; Voting station Operations, Logistics Information etc.<\/li>\n<li>Educate and advise the public on electoral processes and activities<\/li>\n<li>Collation of supporting documentation for payments processes at provincial level relating to local level<\/li>\n<li>Complete payment documents with payment information<\/li>\n<li>Update payments and projects files<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate travel logistic for provincial project coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Raise purchase requisition on SAP for travel logistics and projects related procuremen<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with local office staff on electoral project implementation<\/li>\n<li>Take minutes of projects meeting<\/li>\n<li>Collect statistics of registration activities at local municipality level and compile a consolidated report<\/li>\n<li>Assist with training logistics<\/li>\n<li>Post-election activities &#8211; roll-back, debriefing and reports<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties delegated from time to time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Relevant experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Project management skills (advantageous)<\/li>\n<li>Basic Computer literacy skills<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Office Administration<\/li>\n<li>Minute taking<\/li>\n<li>Understanding the legal framework (advantageous)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Ability to meet deadlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Requirements<\/h3>\n<div id=\"Requirements\" title=\"Requirements\">\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A tertiary qualification or alternatively Matric\/N3 plus at least 2 years relevant working experience (i.e. administrative and\/or project management) and a valid driver&#8217;s licence.<\/li>\n<li>Prior electoral experience and knowledge of electoral legislations processes and procedures will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must reside or be familiar with the province of Kwazulu Nata<\/li>\n<li>Must have knowledge of the provincial office of Kwazulu Natal and leadership skill<\/li>\n<li>Must not hold any political position or be involved in any political parties&#8217; campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Should possess a valid driver&#8217;s licence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No person shall be appointed who &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>is under the age of 18 years<\/li>\n<li>is not a registered voter<\/li>\n<li>is not a South African citizen<\/li>\n<li>has a criminal record, without consulting the CE<\/li>\n<li>is or has been a candidate in an election for the National Assembly, a provincial legislature or a municipal council in the last five year<\/li>\n<li>has been an office bearer of a political party in the last 5 year<\/li>\n<li>has been an office bearer of any other organisation or entity that has party political aims during the last 5 year<\/li>\n<li>is related to an employee of the Electoral Commission in the Kwazulu Natal Province, without consulting the PEO.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3>More Information<\/h3>\n<div>\n<div id=\"Contacts\" title=\"Contacts\">\n<p><strong>The above position is on a fixed term contract basis, until the last day of the first full month after the Election Day.<\/strong>\u00a0The Electoral Commission will only correspond with successful candidates and interviews will be conducted with short-listed candidates on a date and time specified by the Interview Panel. The Electoral Commission is under no obligation to fill the positions after advertising it.
