REQUIREMENTS : Matric Certificate or National Certificate (Vocational), Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social
\nWork; plus a minimum of 7 years appropriate experience in social work after
\nregistration as Social Worker with SACSSP. A valid driver\u2019s license Knowledge:
\nskills to ensure that supervisees challenge structural sources of poverty,
\ninequality, discrimination; Knowledge and understanding of human behaviour and
\nsocial systems; The ability and competence to ensure that supervisees assist,
\nadvocate and empower individuals, families, groups, organisations and
\ncommunities to enhance their social functioning; The understanding and ability to
\nensure that supervisees provide social work services towards protecting people
\nwho are vulnerable; Ability to compile complex reports.<\/p>\n
DUTIES : Ensure that a social work service with regard to care, support, protection and
\ndevelopment of vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities through
\nthe relevant programmes is rendered. Attend to any other matters that could\u00a0result in, or stem from, social instability in any form; Supervise and advise social
\nworkers and social auxiliary workers and volunteers to ensure an effective social
\nwork service; Keep up to date with new developments in the social work field;
\nSupervise all administrative functions.<\/p>\n
