\nSALARY : R195 177 per annum Level: 07
\nCENTRE : Mpumalanga Region, Witbank<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS : A\/ an appropriate three year tertiary qualification in Environmental Sciences or
\nEnvironmental Management, and a valid driver\u2019s licence. PLUS the following
\ncompetencies, Knowledge of: National Environmental Management Act(NEMA),
\nNational Environmental Management Waste Act (NEMWA), National Water Act
\n(NWA), Mineral and Petroleum Resource Development Act (MPRDA) and other
\nlegislation (i.e environmental legislations governing the mining environment.
\nManagement and financial provision for rehabilitation purposes, mining
\nprocedures, processes and impacts thereof. Mitigation measures including
\nrehabilitation and pollution control measures. Skills: Interpretation of legislation,
\ninterpersonal skills, computer skills, conflict resolution skills, ability to work in a
\nteam and independently. Communication: Excellent verbal and written
\ncommunication. Creativity: Information evaluation, ability to work in a team. Ability
\nto analyse problems and recommend corrective measures, ability to interpret
\npolicies and legislation.<\/p>\n
DUTIES : Evaluate scoping reports, Environmental Impact Assessment reports, Basic
\nAssessment reports,. Environmental Management Plans, Closure plans and the
\ntechnical and environmental reports. Issue Environemtal Authorizations and
\nWaste Management licences. Conduct comprehensive environmental inspection
\nand environmental audits in line with NEMA and related Regulations Regulate the
\nclosure of mine within the stipulated time frames. Identify environmental liabilities
\nfor prospecting and mining operations and insure evaluation of adequacy of
\nfinancial provision. Investigate and resolve mine environmental related issues.
\nAttend to environmental related queries and complaints at the mines, Assist
\nclients through promotion of administrative justice, environmental enforcement
\nand investigate illegal mining. Participate in environmental related forums and
\nmeetings.<\/p>\n
