1. FINANCE CLERK SUPERVISOR 2 POSTS REF NO: CFO 15\/8\/2<\/strong>

\nCENTRE : Financial Management Division, Chief Directorate Financial
\nControl Services, Directorate Financial Control Services, Loss Administration
\nSection, Pretoria.
\nREQUIREMENTS : Minimum requirements: A degree\/Diploma in Finance with three years minimum
\nexperience or Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of seven years relevant
\nexperience. Knowledge\/experience: Computer literate and skilled in word
\nprocessing (MS Word) and Spread sheets (Excel) and Power Point. Successful
\ncompletion of formal course(s) relevant to the job content of this post would serve
\nas a strong recommendation. knowledge of the processes and procedures that
\nare followed in the administration of losses within the Public Service would serve
\nas a strong recommendation. Ability to correctly interpret and effectively apply
\nfinancial policy and related prescripts. Good knowledge of the Public. Financial
\nManagement Act (PFMA) Ability to analyse and correctly interpret loss reports
\nsubmitted by clients. Skills: Well-developed verbal and written communication
\nskills and ability to complete affective reports and statistics. Proven ability to
\neffectively function as part of a large team, to affectively. Communicate with
\nsenior clients from the various units and different Divisions. Decisive and
\npersevering iro task finalization with strong organizing and prioritizing ability.
\nCreative with good interpersonal relationships and able and willing to operate in a
\nshared work environment (office) with other officials of a lower, equal or more
\nsenior rank. Team-worker, trustworthy, reliable and receptive to work-related
\nsuggestions\/ideas. Effective supervisory skills and motivated towards training,
\ndeveloping and mentoring junior and senior clerks in the section.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Ensure that internal controls with regards to loss administration are monitored
\nand implemented. Ensure that all administrative tasks are executed and finalized
\nby the target dates. Maintaining control over the internal Registry office and
\nensure that all incoming and outgoing correspondence, documents and files are
\neffectively sorted, registered, filed and routed. Supervise the checking and
\nevaluating of loss reports, the rejection of invalid reports and referral thereof to
\nthe sections concerned. Manage and supervise the correct allocation of file
\nreference numbers and the opening and up keeping of separate files for each
\nloss report case as well as the updating of the database on Excel. Ensure that the
\nExcel database is regularly updated as soon as the Senior Accountant has dealt
\nwith the loss reports. Maintain and supervise and effective pending system to\u00a0ensure that all non-finalised loss report files are held over and routed to the
\nSenior State Accountant or the Assistant Director on the specific target dates.
\nRegularly compile and submit the prescribed weekly and monthly management
\nreports. Manage and supervise all personnel under control of this post as far as
\nleave, performance assessment, training, development and disciplinary matters
\nare concerned. Effectively manage all assets and material resorting under control
\nof this post.

\nManagement Office SA Air Force, Command Division, Pretoria
\nREQUIREMENTS : Minimum requirements: Grade 12 certificate with finance related subjects.
\nSuccessful completion of Budget Management courses will be a strong
\nrecommendation. Sound reasoning, mathematics and problem solving ability as
\nwell as being trustworthy, honest and loyal. Ability to understand and interpret
\nbasic financial policy and a basic knowledge of Financial Policy and the PFMA.
\nWell-developed verbal and written communication skills and able to compile
\neffective reports and statistics. Ability to effectively function as part of a team,
\nreceptive to work-related suggestions\/ideas. decisive\/persevering in respect of
\ntask finalisation and able to effectively function under pressure. Basic knowledge
\nof the budget process as well as the basic financial function. Knowledge of
\ncomputer systems and programs, including Word Processing and Spread sheets.
\nBeing in possession of a valid vehicle driver’s licence will be a strong
\nrecommendation. Added advantage: Post Matric qualification in Finance and \/or a
\nminimum of one year relevant experience. The successful candidate will be
\nrequired to complete all relevant courses.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Assist the Budget Manager and Chief Accounting Clerk in collecting\/obtaining
\nrelative financial, budgetary information to execute the budget management
\nfunction. Assist in identifying potential cost saving opportunities in order to limit
\nfruitless\/unnecessary expenditure. Assist in arranging Budget Control Committee
\n(BCC) meetings. Assist in preparing a variety of financial\/budgetary reports and
\nstatistics. Assist in preparing documents and software to be used by the Budget
\nManager during presentations. Maintain an effective internal filling system.
\nCollecting\/delivering budget related documentation from and to other\u00a0directorates\/sections. Assisting management with regards to general
