REQUIREMENTS : Gr 12 with a 4 year B A (Social Worker) Degree\/Social Worker Diploma, Council
\nregistration certificate with proof of current registration with SACSSP as a social
\nworker. 20 years\u2019 experience as a registered Social Worker with SACSSP. 4
\nyears\u2019 experience as a Supervisor. Knowledge of the Mental Health Care Act
\nNo.17 of 2002, the Criminal Procedure Act and Substance Abuse Act. Insight into
\nmental illness, substance abuse and previous experience in a Psychiatric Institute
\nwill serve as an advantage. Good listening, negotiation, problem solving, report
\nwriting, presentation, planning and organisation, conflict resolution skill and
\nleadership skills teamwork and collaboration. Computer literacy in MS office with
\nproof. Specialised individual, family and group work skills.<\/p>\n
DUTIES : Responsible for specialised social work service delivery in the Psychosocial
\nrehabilitation programme for state patients, intensive group work with patients in
\nthe substance rehabilitation treatment Unit. Presentation of observation reports
\nwithin a thirty day period. in respect of observation cases. Compile
\ncomprehensive psycho-social reports. Attend and actively participate in ward
\nrounds as a member of the multidisciplinary team within the institution. Participate
\nin training, Supervision and development of staff and university social work
\nstudents when required and with implementation of the Performance
\nManagement Development System. Plan, develop and implement Service
\nprograms participating in courses and workshops keeping up to date with new
\ndevelopments to acquire CDP points. Perform any other duties assigned to by the
\nSocial Work Manager\/Supervisor. Participate in the upgrading and management
\nof the core standards of the Hospital<\/p>\n
