Job Purpose:<\/strong> Duties:<\/strong> Education & Experience:<\/strong> The Employment Equity policy of SARS will be considered as part of the recruitment and selection process. \nTo ensure effective and efficient conducting of Standard VAT audits requiring basic tax auditing and accounting competency<\/p>\n
\nPlan and conduct audits requiring basic tax, auditing and accounting competence to ensure compliance with the relevant acts
\nProduce a written report on audit findings and recommendations
\nRequest relevant documentation information require for the audit
\nCheck registration for applicable tax types
\nUpdate taxpayer information on SARS systems
\nPrepare and present submissions to interest and penalty committee
\nPrepare, maintain and archive audit records
\nFinalize objections and appeals
\nMaintain operational data
\nConduct audits within acceptable quality norms required
\nComplete audits within the agreed throughput time
\nAnswer enquiries related to audits conducted
\nIdentify and escalate significant cases and issues
\nMeet operational targets
\nInteract with taxpayers on case related issues<\/p>\n
\nA Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma ( NQF7) in Accounting and \/ Taxation
\n2 years Auditing experience
\nBasic tax, audit and accounting skills
\nThe ideal candidate will have the following competencies:

\nCreate reports for various SARS stakeholders as relevant, in a lucid effective manner
\nExperience
\nPlan and conduct audits requiring basic tax, auditing and accounting competence
\nConducts standard audits independently
\nUnderstands the audit process, from end to end, inclusive of risk analysis
\nKnowledge
\nKnowledge of financial accounting principles, classifying, measuring and reporting transactions of SARS
\nKnowledge and understanding of accounting and tax concepts, financial statements, trial balance and financial record keeping process
