REQUIREMENTS : 3-year tertiary qualifications in Communication or Journalism or Media
\nStudies. Writing experience. Experience in the media and communication
\nenvironment. Experience in media strategy development and implementation.
\nExperience in media monitoring and analysis. Reasonable knowledge of the
\nMarine Living Resources Act, 1998 (Act No 18 of 1998), the Promotion of
\nAccess to Information Act, 2000 (Act No 2 of 2000), Public Finance
\nManagement Act, 1999 (Act No 1 of 1999) and Protection of Personal
\nInformation Act, 2013 (Act No 4 of 2013). Research experience. Relevant
\nexperience in dealing with stakeholders (both internally and externally). The
\nability to work under pressure. Good communication, interpersonal, planning
\nand organising skills are a necessity. Computer literacy in MS Office software.<\/p>\n
DUTIES : Produce regular newsletters and special editions on the Fishing Rights
\nAllocation Process and Small-scale Fisheries Implementation. Distribute
\nnewsletters to internal and external stakeholders. Produce schedules for
\npublication content. Ensure FRAP and Small-scale Fisheries content is
\nregularly updated on the website. Design and develop brochures, leaflets,
\nexhibition materials and other material, including branding and signage.
\nFacilitate development and production of FRAP and small-scale fisheries
\nbooklets. Develop and implement media plans. Write media release in
\nrespect of FRAP-related matters intended for internal and external
\nstakeholders and take photographs. Conduct daily media monitoring for local
\nnewspapers. Develop media briefing documents such as fact sheets and
\nbackground information. Collate information with regard to media enquiries
\nand draft responses. Assist with the implementation of FRAP communication
\nstrategy plan. Provide inputs in relation to sector-specific policies.<\/p>\n
