{"id":24816,"date":"2015-09-23T12:35:13","date_gmt":"2015-09-23T10:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=24816"},"modified":"2015-09-23T12:35:13","modified_gmt":"2015-09-23T10:35:13","slug":"bursary-opportunity-at-petra-diamonds-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/bursary-opportunity-at-petra-diamonds-2016.html","title":{"rendered":"Bursary Opportunity at Petra Diamonds 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Petra Diamonds is committed to develop and expand South Africa\u2019s skills base by offering this bursary programme.<\/p>\n<p>To this end Petra provides an opportunity for South Africans to acquire qualifications and skills to develop a career in the mining industry and make a positive contribution to South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><u>Petra Diamonds offers bursaries and vocational work experience (internships) in the following fields:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Mining<\/p>\n<p>Earth Sciences: Geology<\/p>\n<p><u>HOW TO APPLY<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The applicant must meet the minimum requirements as set out by Petra Diamonds below.<\/p>\n<p>An application form may be downloaded from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.careerwise.co.za\/application_forms\/career_wise_application_form_2015.pdf\" target=\"_new\"><u><strong>Career Wise.<\/strong><\/u><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Careerwise will receive, scan and shortlist all applications.<\/p>\n<p>The final selection is made by Petra Diamonds.<\/p>\n<p><u>REQUIREMENTS<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant must be a citizen of South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must have a keen interest in the mining industry and a drive to establish a career within this industry<\/li>\n<li>Current matriculants should obtain university exemptions with a minimum of 6 or 7 for maths (not maths literacy) and science<\/li>\n<li>Current university students should demonstrate high academic achievement within their field of study<\/li>\n<li>Applicants should be prepared to relocate to rural areas where the mining operations are located if required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>BURSARY VALUE<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full tuition fees<\/li>\n<li>Full residence and meals (or equivalent allowance)<\/li>\n<li>Annual cash and travel allowance<\/li>\n<li>Life skills training<\/li>\n<li>Compulsory practical vacation employment during December and January<\/li>\n<li>The bursary is renewable annually<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The application process for 2016 bursaries closes on 30 September 2015.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.petradiamonds.com\/careers\/bursaries\/\" target=\"_new\"><u><strong>Click Here to Petra Diamonds Career Page.<\/strong><\/u><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Petra Diamonds is committed to develop and expand South Africa\u2019s skills base by offering this bursary programme.
