Applications are invited for the post of Graduate Intern for Events and Administrative Assistant for the African Climate and Development Initiative (ACDI).<\/p>\n
The ACDI is a strategic initiative at UCT that coordinates and enhances research and teaching on climate and climate change across departments and faculties.<\/p>\n
The main purpose will be to provide support in organising a range of interdisciplinary events, which serve to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration and interdisciplinary research. This is a full-time, one-year contract position.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements:<\/u><\/p>\n
\u2022 A minimum of post-matric qualification in a related field.
\n\u2022 Excellent command of the English language
\n\u2022 Excellent writing skills<\/p>\n
\u2022 Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular)<\/p>\n
Advantageous experience includes:<\/u><\/p>\n
\u2022 Qualification of relevance to ACDI activities
\n\u2022 Demonstrable interest in climate and development issues
\n\u2022 Experience in events organization and management<\/p>\n
\u2022 Competency in another South African language (other than English)<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/u><\/p>\n
Under the guidance of the Project Coordinator, the successful candidate will be assisting with:<\/p>\n
\u2022 events (conferences, workshops, seminars, etc) including logistical support, marketing and communications<\/p>\n
\u2022 data capture of activities<\/p>\n
