The U.S. Consulate General in Johannesburg is seeking an individual for the\u00a0position<\/a>of Passport and ACS Assistant in the Consular Section (CONS).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Minimum Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Qualifications Required:<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/strong>NOTE:\u00a0ALL\u00a0APPLICANTS<\/a> MUST ADDRESS EACH SELECTION CRITERION DETAILED BELOW WITH SPECIFIC AND COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION SUPPORTING EACH ITEM.\u00a0Items 1-6 are ALL REQUIRED<\/span> <\/span>1.\u00a0Two years college studies in a Social Science, Humanities, Arts, Business, or related field.\u00a02.\u00a0Two years of progressively responsible workexperience<\/a> in administration or general office work\u00a0involving public contact and the application of complex regulatory requirements.3.\u00a0English level IV (fluent).\u00a0(This will be tested)4.\u00a0Must have strong interpersonal skills to deal with the public.5.\u00a0Must have the ability to recognize those cases requiring special or expeditious attention.6.Must be proficient in the use of all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite 2007.\u00a0(This will be tested)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Job Specification<\/h2>\n

Basic Function of Position:<\/span><\/strong> The position attends to applicants for U.S. passports, persons reporting births of U.S. citizens abroad, those inquiring about U.S. travel warning or visa requirements for U.S. passport holders, or requesting registration in post warden system at the\u00a0American<\/a> Citizens Services (ACS) window.\u00a0The position also provides requested forms or information materials, accepts and processes passport applications, reports of births, and registration of American citizens residing in\u00a0South<\/a> Africa.<\/p>\n
