{"id":25592,"date":"2015-11-12T14:54:11","date_gmt":"2015-11-12T12:54:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=25592"},"modified":"2016-11-18T13:39:56","modified_gmt":"2016-11-18T11:39:56","slug":"mining-qualifications-authority-bursary-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/mining-qualifications-authority-bursary-application.html","title":{"rendered":"Mining Qualifications Authority Bursary Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The MQA bursary scheme was established to increase the number of students taking careers in the mining and minerals sector.<\/p>\n<p>Today the bursary scheme continues to assist students by offering them the opportunity to study these careers at Higher Education and Training (HET).<\/p>\n<p>The MQA bursary covers full tuition, accommodation, meals and book allowances. The bursary will be awarded to students enrolled in careers identified in the scarce and critical skills list, particularly in core mining related disciplines.<\/p>\n<p><u>Minimum criteria<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The minimum criteria required include a strong academic record accompanied by a need for financial assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must also have genuine interest in and knowledge of the mining and minerals sector.<\/p>\n<p><u>The MQA bursary supports the following core mining disciplines:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mining Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Mine Survey<\/li>\n<li>Metallurgical Engineering (Extractive only)<\/li>\n<li>Geology<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Health and Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Students studying the following disciplines will also be considered, although there are limited bursaries available:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current only)<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Chemical Engineering(Mineral Processing)<\/li>\n<li>Electro-Mechanical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Industrial Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Analytical Chemistry<\/li>\n<li>Jewellery Design and Manufacturing<\/li>\n<li>Special consideration will be given to female applicants as well as applicants living with disabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The MQA carries a service obligation and successful applicants will be obligated to secure employment within the South African mining and minerals sector for the same amount of years as the sponsored bursary.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mqabursaryscheme.org.za\/documents\/policy.pdf\" target=\"_new\"><u><strong>Click Here to MQA BURSARY AND WORK EXPERIENCE SCHEME POLICY<\/strong><\/u><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mqabursaryscheme.org.za\/\" target=\"_new\"><u><strong>Click Here to MQA Bursary Page<\/strong><\/u><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The MQA bursary scheme was established to increase the number of students taking careers in the mining and minerals sector.
