Science, Engineering and Technology position at the NMB Science and Technology Centre.<\/p>\n

Unemployed GRADUATES in Science, Engineering and Technology ONLY.<\/p>\n

Required to volunteer in the DST\u2019S National Youth Service Programme<\/p>\n

Volunteers will be based at the Nelson Mandela Bay Science and Technology Centre.<\/p>\n

The Nelson Mandela Bay Science and Technology Centre is located in the heart of Uitenhage\u2019s central business district and offers programmes which target educators and learners in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).<\/p>\n

The centre offers in-house and external programmes designed to build enthusiasm and an affinity to these subjects.<\/p>\n

The centre is a project of the Uitenhage Despatch Development Initiative (UDDI), a special purpose vehicle established to facilitate socio-economic development within the Uitenhage-Despatch area of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.<\/p>\n

Four (4) positions for persons aged 18-35 are available for a 12-month contract.<\/p>\n

Stipends paid to volunteers per month are as follows:<\/u><\/p>\n

\u00b7 National Diploma (R4000)
\n\u00b7 Bachelor\u2019s Degree\/B.Tech (R4500)
\n\u00b7 Honours (R5000)
\n\u00b7 Master\u2019s (R6000)<\/p>\n

\u00b7 PhD (R7200)<\/p>\n

Volunteers will be required to:<\/u><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Assist with School Science Support Programmes
\n\u00b7 Facilitate outreach programmes<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Facilitate programmes offered in the centre<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/u><\/p>\n

A Science Diploma\/Degree with Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Microbiology etc as majors or an Engineering qualification.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Good communication skills
\n\u00b7 Ability to work with people
\n\u00b7 Technical skills<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Drivers licence will be advantageous<\/p>\n

All travel and relocation costs will be for the candidates\u2019 own expenses.<\/p>\n
