Duties will include but are not limited to:
\n\u2022 The effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure.
\n\u2022 Control and verify system backups and file archiving, ensuring all required file systems and data are successfully backed up to appropriate media, media is stored, and recycled.
\n\u2022 Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
\n\u2022 Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
\n\u2022 Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
\n\u2022 Train, guide and advice users in the appropriate and efficient use of the IT infrastructure.
\n\u2022 Undertake other duties not specifically stated which from time to time are necessary without altering the nature or level of responsibility.<\/p>\n
System Administrator: Linux
\nDepartment: Electronics and Information Technology
\nThe successful candidate will work within the System Support division and would be responsible for the Linux server environment. Supporting open source applications at the LAB in terms of support, scheduled maintenance, systems integration planning and deployment.<\/p>\n

Job Requirements:
\nMinimum requirements:
\n\u2022 Should have a B-degree, Diploma, or appropriate Certification.

\n\u2022 In-depth knowledge of TCP\/IP Suite including (DNS, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, etc.)<\/p>\n
The Following experience would be an advantage:
\n\u2022 RedHat Linux\/ CentOS\/ Debian\/ FreeBSD.
\n\u2022 Virtualization (KVM\/OpenStack).
\n\u2022 Monitoring Systems (Nagios\/ Zabbix\/ Cacti etc.).
\n\u2022 Orchestration and Provisioning ( Puppet\/ Chef\/ Foreman\/ Spacewalk)
\n\u2022 Databases (MySQL\/ MySQL cluster\/ Replication\/ Cassandra\/ PostgreSQL).
\n\u2022 Internet Services (BIND\/ Exim\/ RADIUS etc.).
\n\u2022 Firewalls and load balancing.
\n\u2022 Filesystems and network access (NFS\/ iSCSI\/ FCoE\/ Ceph\/ AFS).
\n\u2022 Web\/Application servers (Tomcat\/ Apache).
\n\u2022 Scripting (sh\/ Perl\/ Bash\/ Python\/ Ruby\/ Rails).
\n\u2022 Networking (Ethernet\/ IPv4\/ LAN\/ WAN\/ routing protocols).<\/p>\n
