Identify alternatives for optimizing of application processes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outline of main duties and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Application System Analyst will be expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide standby support to the 1 st Level support team for the application systems;<\/li>\n<li>Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems and processes;<\/li>\n<li>Plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade of application systems;<\/li>\n<li>Analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs;<\/li>\n<li>Prepare detailed documentation outlining systems capabilities and processes;<\/li>\n<li>Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems;<\/li>\n<li>Write and maintain system documentation;<\/li>\n<li>Document system problems and resolutions for knowledge management;<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for logging and tracking of errors\/enhancements to Vendors;<\/li>\n<li>Analysis, escalation and follow up of technical incidents;<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for month end runs \u2013 This includes working extended hours at month end;<\/li>\n<li>Interacting extensively within departments;<\/li>\n<li>Focus on user experience to drive functional and technological changes;<\/li>\n<li>Support the system\u2019s in-house user-base, applying COBIT\/ITIL best governance practices;<\/li>\n<li>Manage and maintain security of system at all levels business units, security roles, access etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and experience required<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An appropriate Degree\/Diploma \u2013 B.Com\/BSc Computer Science\/Information Systems\/Financial Information Systems;<\/li>\n<li>Above average communication skills (written &amp; verbal);<\/li>\n<li>Experience in a systems analyst role;<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical background in Unix, Relational databases and middleware an advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Confident &amp; enthusiastic with an ability to adapt to a changing environment;<\/li>\n<li>Team leadership experience an advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Experience on Asset Management systems an advantage i.e. strong technical background in NX Manager, Invest one, Asset Arena Tax etc. and application support;<\/li>\n<li>4+ years\u2019 experience in systems support and administration;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in application implementations, as well as application deployment and\/or distributed system implementation;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in writing complex SQL queries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting structure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Application System Analyst will report to the Manager Systems Administration, ICT, South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remuneration level<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remuneration will be market related and commensurate with experience and seniority.
