The ideal candidate would have a strong academic record and a degree in the humanities or communications, plus a minimum of four to six years\u2019 professional experience in a communications-related position.<\/p>\n<p>Detailed Description<\/p>\n<p>Key responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Give strategic advice to McKinsey project teams, individual partners and consultants, and clients at all levels up to and including CEOs, on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Defining appropriate strategic communications objectives<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and analysing stakeholders, their positions and needs<\/li>\n<li>Developing insightful communication strategies and plans to achieve the objectives<\/li>\n<li>Setting up the communications architecture needed to deliver the plans<\/li>\n<li>Designing individual communications and interactions (e.g., speeches, presentations, workshops, documents)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This advice may be given in a wide range of client organisations and situations, but typically we work in large-scale organisations in the throes of major change, such as redesign of the organisation or operational performance improvement programmes.<\/p>\n<p>Build both consultants\u2019 and clients\u2019 communications skills (strategic, written, interpersonal) by designing and delivering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coaching to individuals and teams.<\/li>\n<li>Training to groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Develop the office and the Firm\u2019s thinking on, and aspirations for, communications by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing and packaging best practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Designing and implementing awareness-building initiatives<\/p>\n<p>Please submit cover letter, CV, transcripts and latest salary slip by 28th June 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Desired Skills<br \/>\nSkills, attributes and experience required:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4-6 years\u2019 credible experience in a communications-related field \u2013 e.g., teaching, journalism, PR, publishing, training \u2013 or in business<\/li>\n<li>Excellent academic qualifications<\/li>\n<li>The ability to absorb rapidly and grapple with a wide range of complex business issues<\/li>\n<li>Strategic thinking, with strong problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding influencing, interpersonal, editing and writing skills<\/li>\n<li>The presence to coach, train, and challenge McKinsey partners, consultants and clients at all levels with credibility<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and the ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivation, with an appetite for working entrepreneurially in an unstructured and unsupervised environment<\/li>\n<li>Team orientation, with a strong sense of commitment to team members and client impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview We are seeking a person to join the Johannesburg Communications Team.
