{"id":28279,"date":"2016-06-16T14:02:42","date_gmt":"2016-06-16T12:02:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=28279"},"modified":"2016-11-10T10:35:32","modified_gmt":"2016-11-10T08:35:32","slug":"developer-level-1-absa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/developer-level-1-absa.html","title":{"rendered":"Developer Level 1 at Absa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the role is to deliver the design, coding, testing and documenting of integrated systems in accordance with agreed standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coding software in keeping with given specification and according to defined programming guidelines (e.g., methodology, structure, code comments).<\/li>\n<li>Unit testing of the developed new software or changes to existing software.<\/li>\n<li>Fixing bugs in the software based on testing results.<\/li>\n<li>Preparing technical documentation guides for the software.<\/li>\n<li>Create requirements package<\/li>\n<li>Update, modify and enhance existing software and applications.<\/li>\n<li>Code software programs and applications in keeping with given design and<\/li>\n<li>specification.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct unit testing as specified in the unit test plan, and document the outcomes in order to ensure that the code developed is error free.<\/li>\n<li>Implement fixes to resolve any identified unit and system testing issues \/ errors.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with all test phases and implement fixes according to identified errors.<\/li>\n<li>Analyse, identify and troubleshoot issues encountered in production and \/ or reported by customers \/ users by analysing and debugging code.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Analysing (Familiar with)<\/li>\n<li>Delivering Results &amp; meeting customer expectations<\/li>\n<li>Presenting &amp; Communicating Information (Awareness)<\/li>\n<li>Learning &amp; Research (Familiar with)<\/li>\n<li>Creating &amp; innovating (Familiar with)<\/li>\n<li>Deciding &amp; Initiating action (Familiar with)<\/li>\n<li>Working with people (Familiar with)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>General <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The appointment will be made in line with the Divisional Employment Equity strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential\/Basic Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Information Systems or related field, compulsory.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of at least one current programming language and methodology,<\/li>\n<li>compulsory.<\/li>\n<li>Specialization in at least one current programming language and methodology,<\/li>\n<li>advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 2 years\u2019 experience in Programming in relevant programming language(s).<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Programming for Financial Services Industry, advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure in application Knowledge for Support.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure in Compliance Audit.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure in Development.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure in Quality Assurance.<\/li>\n<li>Elementary exposure in Testing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No Criminal record <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the role is to deliver the design, coding, testing and documenting of integrated systems in accordance with agreed standards.
