{"id":28365,"date":"2016-06-17T13:50:54","date_gmt":"2016-06-17T11:50:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=28365"},"modified":"2016-06-17T13:50:54","modified_gmt":"2016-06-17T11:50:54","slug":"intermediate-actuarial-specialist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/intermediate-actuarial-specialist.html","title":{"rendered":"Intermediate Actuarial Specialist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Old Mutual Retail Protection Product Development Team is seeking a suitably qualified individual for a role in the team.<\/p>\n<p>This role forms part of a team responsible for the product development, pricing and ongoing support of retail protection products for Emerging Markets with primary focus on South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver experience investigations and data analyses as agreed to inform valuation and pricing bases, underwriting practices and processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ad-hoc collaborative analyses, enrichment of data and alternative data sources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist data specialist to make changes to experience investigation models when required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the systems implementation of new benefits and changes to rates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide support on ad-hoc requests from business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in setting premiums and profit testing when required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualified actuary or actuarial student with a minimum of 9 actuarial exam credits.<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years actuarial experience.<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical skills and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Previous SQL and Prophet experience would be a distinct advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills (both written and verbal).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under deadline pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Motivated self-starter who shows initiative, look for ways to improve existing processes and able to complete tasks within agreed timelines with minimal guidance.<\/li>\n<li>High levels of drive, energy and innovation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Client Focus<\/li>\n<li>Thinking Skills<\/li>\n<li>Decision Making<\/li>\n<li>Ownership<\/li>\n<li>Technical Knowledge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please apply directly on the company website\u00a0&#8211; IRC33752.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of OMSA and the specific business unit.<\/strong><strong>Preference will be given to suitably qualified and experienced South<\/strong>A<strong>frican Equity candidates.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Old Mutual Retail Protection Product Development Team is seeking a suitably qualified individual for a role in the team.
