{"id":28456,"date":"2016-06-21T12:49:47","date_gmt":"2016-06-21T10:49:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=28456"},"modified":"2016-06-21T12:49:47","modified_gmt":"2016-06-21T10:49:47","slug":"officer-finance-business-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/officer-finance-business-support.html","title":{"rendered":"Officer \u2013 Finance Business Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Job Description<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen within our EMEA Chief Financial Office \u2013 a control function and valued business advisor, providing support in a range of areas including business unit finance; legal entity control and capital planning\/regulatory reporting.<\/p>\n<p>As an Officer \u2013 based in our South Africa Finance team \u2013 you will support the Equity, Fixed Income, Investment Banking and Corporate Banking business lines. The role is very much a \u2018hands on\u2019, execution related position and the role holder will be expected to liaise with a number of stakeholders, partners and sub-streams within the Finance function itself.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>As The Officer Your Main Responsibilities Will Involve<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>P&amp;L reporting on a daily basis<\/li>\n<li>Posting of journals relating to month-end close in Oracle<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with operations and offshore finance teams in clearing intercompany breaks<\/li>\n<li>Substantiation of trading inventory balances<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of ad hoc reports required by the management committee and board<\/li>\n<li>Calculation and submission of various taxes on a monthly basis including VAT, STT and DWT<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that monthly balance sheet substantiation processes strictly adhered to \u2013 establish and maintain best in class processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>As The Officer Your Skills And Qualifications Will Ideally Include<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong accounting skills<\/li>\n<li>Goal driven and proactive in dealing with matters; must display level of urgency in getting things done.<\/li>\n<li>Good team player \u2013 able to work well within a small team<\/li>\n<li>High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Good knowledge on Pivot tables, V lookups, etc essential)<\/li>\n<li>Adaptable and willingness of assist with duties not necessarily falling within the Finance ambit (i.e. BEE verification processes, contracts reviews and custody, etc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Desirable<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>JSE regulatory reporting experience is desirable<\/li>\n<li>A good understanding of accounting systems &#8211; experience of Oracle Financials and SAP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>About Bank Of America Merrill Lynch<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bank of America Merrill Lynch provides comprehensive market, industry, product and advisory expertise to more than 140,000 businesses around the globe.
