The Finance Officer will have primary day-to-day responsibility for accounting and clerical tasks and must ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of the HSF grant and relevant programme finances.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Finance Officer will need exceptional organisational skills, be a motivated team player who\u2019s able to work under pressure, and have an enthusiastic and \u2018hands-on\u2019 approach to the job. The successful candidate will report to the Group Financial Officer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview of duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with the preparation of HSF annual budgets and forecasting<\/li>\n<li>Maintain HSF donor files, reporting schedules and calendars<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Group Financial Officer to input and maintain HSF budgets on Accpac<\/li>\n<li>Issue letters of confirmation of receipts to donors<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of variance reports and general ledger reports on monthly basis<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with Programme Administrators to balance donor Budget Monitoring Templates<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of all HSF donor reports<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Group Financial Officer in preparing and conducting project certificate audits<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Group Financial Officer with year-end audit preparation<\/li>\n<li>Maintain fixed assets to operate in accordance with policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Perform and oversee tax calculations and filing to ensure that all statutory obligations are met in a timely manner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview of requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Accounting or related field<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of three years\u2019 grant administration\/management in an NGO environment<\/li>\n<li>Proven financial grant administration experience will be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding and working knowledge of project management<\/li>\n<li>Good organisational skills<\/li>\n<li>Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and fluent in English<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy: Excel, Word, Internet, email<\/li>\n<li>Willing to travel to regional offices in Dakar, Addis and Nairobi<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and working experience of Accpac accounting software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The contract will be for one year, and may be renewed subject to programme requirements, funding and satisfactory performance.
