The applicant must be able to learn quickly and be trained continuously.<\/p>\n<p><strong>POST 29\/07 : HELPDESK OPERATOR REF NO: 254\/2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Directorate: ICT Service Delivery and Operations<br \/>\nSALARY : R171 069 per annum<\/p>\n<p>CENTRE : Pretoria<\/p>\n<p><u>REQUIREMENTS :<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An applicant must be in possession of a degree\/National Diploma in IT.<\/li>\n<li>Appropriate experience in rendering of helpdesk services in an Information Technology environment or ICT desktop support.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages, Microsoft networking environment and Microsoft Windows XP operating system. Planning and organising, communication\/interpersonal and listening skills.<\/li>\n<li>Problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>DUTIES :<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log calls and administer the helpdesk system for the Department in order to ensure users satisfactory.<\/li>\n<li>Log all user calls using the service helpdesk system.<\/li>\n<li>Assign calls to the appropriate technician including contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Provide helpdesk support to users.<\/li>\n<li>Provide basic support on hardware, software and network problems, configuration and troubleshooting.<\/li>\n<li>Render helpdesk support administration.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain helpdesk system and extract appropriate reports.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain helpdesk database.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>NOTE : Applications must be submitted on a Z83 Form, obtainable from any Public Service department or on the Internet at Z83 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.za\/aboutgovt\/vacancies\/z83.pdf\" target=\"_new\"><strong>Z83 Form &#8211; CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FORM<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>OR<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.daff.gov.za\/doaDev\/doc\/Z83.pdf\" target=\"_new\"><strong>Z83 Form &#8211; CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FORM<\/strong><\/a> which must be signed and dated (an unsigned Z83 form will disqualify an application) and should be accompanied by a recently updated, comprehensive CV as well as copies of all qualification(s) (Matric Certificate must also be attached) and ID document and driver\u2019s licence (where applicable).<\/p>\n<p>Non-RSA Citizens\/Permanent Resident Permit Holders must attach a copy of their Permanent Residence Permits to their application.<\/p>\n<p>Should you be in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).<\/p>\n<p>Failure to submit all the requested documents will result in the application not being considered.<\/p>\n<p>Correspondence will be limited to short-listed candidates only.<\/p>\n<p>If you have not been contacted within three (3) months of the closing date of this advertisement, please accept that your application was unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>Suitable candidates will be subjected to personnel suitability checks (criminal record check, citizenship verification, financial\/asset record check, qualification\/study verification and previous employment verification).<\/p>\n<p>Successful candidates will also be subjected to security clearance processes.<\/p>\n<p>Where applicable, candidates will be subjected to a skills\/knowledge test.
