{"id":30445,"date":"2016-08-01T13:56:42","date_gmt":"2016-08-01T11:56:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=30445"},"modified":"2016-11-10T10:35:32","modified_gmt":"2016-11-10T08:35:32","slug":"analyst-opportunity-absa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/analyst-opportunity-absa.html","title":{"rendered":"Analyst Opportunity at Absa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the role will provide 3rd Line Application Support &amp; Enhancement services to a number of business critical and regulatory applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Has strong operational knowledge of the service desk and incident systems Monitor operational jobs on a daily basis, managing incidents when errors or exceptions occur<\/li>\n<li>Pro-actively review systems to fix incidents before they become service affecting or to improve productivity\/performance<\/li>\n<li>Creating and amending programs in accordance with the design following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards.<\/li>\n<li>Planning, designing and conducting tests of programs, correcting errors and retesting<\/li>\n<li>to deliver an error-free product<\/li>\n<li>Building and maintaining an expert understanding of the various stages of software development, enhancements, and support<\/li>\n<li>Providing guidance and assistance to colleagues<\/li>\n<li>Proposing areas for improvement within own technical sphere to help achieve the BIS Goals<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing and recommending process improvements, helping to implement where possible<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards.<\/li>\n<li>Proposing options to meet business area requirements and prepare cost\/benefit for the business area to evaluate.<\/li>\n<li>Reacting quickly and as necessary to live software errors and service problems to limit downtime and resolve the problem during project handover<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deciding and initiating action<\/li>\n<li>Coping with pressure and setbacks<\/li>\n<li>Relating and networking<\/li>\n<li>Adapting and responding to change<\/li>\n<li>Persuading and influencing<\/li>\n<li>Creating and innovating<\/li>\n<li>Applying expertise and technology<\/li>\n<li>Delivering results and exceed customer expectations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>General<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The appointment will be made in line with the Divisional Employment Equity strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential\/Basic Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc Degree in Computer Science or BCom Informatics or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification or higher or seven (7) years experience in information management within the information technology industry<\/li>\n<li>4 \u2013 5 years relevant technical experience<\/li>\n<li>To be an expert in the required technical skills mandated by the BIS Technology Strategy \u2013 Informatica, Abinitio, OWB, Teradata, IBM Mainframe as required by each role<\/li>\n<li>This role functions in the Run the Bank space and hence more of a maintenance &amp; support system space, than new\/funky builds that happens in Build the Bank.<\/li>\n<li>MUST HAVE Informatica and ETL experience, running off LINUX operating system<\/li>\n<li>The role is split 50% programming small enhancements and 50% Informatica support<\/li>\n<li>Team works on Stand-by and the odd over-weekend implementations<\/li>\n<li>The challenge is that this area has high work volumes in terms of enhancements and fixes<\/li>\n<li>No Criminal record<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the role will provide 3rd Line Application Support &amp; Enhancement services to a number of business critical and regulatory applications.
