{"id":31489,"date":"2016-11-02T12:52:49","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T10:52:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=31489"},"modified":"2016-11-17T17:34:13","modified_gmt":"2016-11-17T15:34:13","slug":"makro-cadetship-programme-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/makro-cadetship-programme-2016.html","title":{"rendered":"Makro Cadetship Programme 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Makro invites applications for the 2017 Cadetship \/work study programme, which started in 2003 with the aim of actively attracting and developing young talented leaders for the business.<\/p>\n<p>The programme offers participants the opportunity to acquire a B Com Degree through one of South Africa\u2019s leading <span id=\"IL_AD3\" class=\"IL_AD\">distance learning<\/span> institutions whilst gaining essential workplace experience*.<br \/>\n<em>* The degree may change depending on business needs and availability.<\/em><br \/>\n<em><br \/>\n<\/em>Makro has 19 warehouse clubs in South Africa trading in food, general merchandise and liquor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Programme format &amp; learner support<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Throughout the duration of the programme participants are based at various stores where the programme is offered. The programme starts annually in mid-March.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"gmail-deepList\">\n<li>The duration of the programme is four years.<\/li>\n<li>Whilst on the programme participants work full time and study <span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">part time<\/span> towards their degree.<\/li>\n<li>Participants receive intensive work based training which allows them to be introduced and familiarised with our business operations, environment and culture.<\/li>\n<li>Participants are provided with a strong support system which includes coaches and mentors to guide and support them through the programme.<\/li>\n<li>Upon successful completion of the programme, candidates are placed in suitable <span id=\"IL_AD9\" class=\"IL_AD\">positions<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Makro is committed to achievement of equity in the workplace through the development of suitably qualified young talent.<br \/>\nThe Cadetship Program, for the 2017 intake will be offered in: Gauteng, Western Cape, PE, Bloemfontein and Pietermaritzburg.<br \/>\n<strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"gmail-shallowList\">\n<li>Completed Grade 12\/ Matriculated.<\/li>\n<li>South <span id=\"IL_AD10\" class=\"IL_AD\">African<\/span> citizen<\/li>\n<li>23 years or younger in the year that the programme starts.<\/li>\n<li>No criminal record<\/li>\n<li><span id=\"IL_AD8\" class=\"IL_AD\">Eligible<\/span> to study towards a B Com Degree<\/li>\n<li>University admission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Selection Criteria *<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"gmail-shallowList\">\n<li class=\"gmail-deepListItem\">Pass matric with <span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">admission<\/span> to Bachelor\u2019s Degree<\/li>\n<li class=\"gmail-deepListItem\">Minimum Achievement Levels:\n<ul class=\"gmail-shallowList\">\n<li>English: 4 (50 \u2013 59%)<\/li>\n<li>Mathematics: 5 (60 \u2013 69%) or<\/li>\n<li>Mathematical Literacy: 7 (80 \u2013 89%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Closing date is 31 January 2017. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.makro.co.za\/Downloads\/Cadetship_application_form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here<\/strong><\/a> to <span id=\"IL_AD2\" class=\"IL_AD\">download<\/span> the <span id=\"IL_AD1\" class=\"IL_AD\">application form<\/span><br \/>\nTo apply submit your <span id=\"IL_AD5\" class=\"IL_AD\">application<\/span> form\/CV together with certified copies of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Barcoded South African ID<\/li>\n<li>Matric Certificate , or<\/li>\n<li>Statement of results<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>CV\u2019S should be submitted to <a href=\"mailto:headofficecadet@makro.co.za\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>headofficecadet@makro.co.za<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\nPlease note that late applications will not be considered.
