{"id":31561,"date":"2016-11-08T12:57:02","date_gmt":"2016-11-08T10:57:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=31561"},"modified":"2016-11-08T12:57:02","modified_gmt":"2016-11-08T10:57:02","slug":"council-geoscience-cgs-bursaries-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/council-geoscience-cgs-bursaries-2017.html","title":{"rendered":"Council for Geoscience (CGS) Bursaries for 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>he Council for Geoscience (CGS) invites university students and Grade 12 learners to apply for the CGS full-time bursary for the 2017 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the CGS bursary is to create, enhance and support expertise in the Geosciences and related technical fields.<\/p>\n<p>The Council for Geoscience (CGS) invites university students and Grade 12 learners to apply for the CGS full-time bursary for the 2017 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the CGS bursary is to create, enhance and support expertise in the Geosciences and related technical fields.<\/p>\n<p><u>Applicants should<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a South African citizen<\/li>\n<li>Be registered fulltime at a South African university<\/li>\n<li>Have an excellent academic record.<\/li>\n<li>Currently be in Grade 12 doing Mathematics and Physical Science<\/li>\n<li>Completed Grade 12 with Level 6 and above in both Mathematics and Physical Science<\/li>\n<li>The CGS bursary programme will co-fund students studying towards PhD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>The CGS will sponsor studies in the following fields<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Engineering Geology<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Geophysics<\/li>\n<li>Geohydrology<\/li>\n<li>Geochemistry<\/li>\n<li>Economic Geology<\/li>\n<li>GIS and Geology<\/li>\n<li>Remote sensing and Geology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Preference will be given to women and learners with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What the bursary covers<\/strong> 1. Registration and tuition fees<br \/>\n2. Accommodation<br \/>\n3. Meals<br \/>\n4. Books<br \/>\n5. Excursion\/ Research<\/p>\n<p>6.
