{"id":33639,"date":"2016-11-17T11:31:19","date_gmt":"2016-11-17T09:31:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=33639"},"modified":"2016-11-17T11:31:19","modified_gmt":"2016-11-17T09:31:19","slug":"building-inclusive-society-internship-programme-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/building-inclusive-society-internship-programme-2017.html","title":{"rendered":"Building an Inclusive Society Internship Programme 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Institute for Justice and Reconciliation seeks to\u00a0appoint\u00a0an Intern, based in Cape Town.<br \/>\nThe successful candidate will work for the Building an Inclusive Society Programme (BIS) which works mainly in South Africa with various communities in different provinces.<\/p>\n<p>One of the imperatives for 2017 is to begin implementing an emerging Social Change Model born out of the work BIS hand been driving for the past five years with Youth and Gender as cross-cutting enablers across both BIS and IJR. Within that model, the programme works with five projects: Community Healing,\u00a0Ashley\u00a0Kriel Youth Leadership project, School\u2019s Oral History, Education for Reconciliation and Memory, <span id=\"IL_AD10\" class=\"IL_AD\">Arts and Culture<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this paid\u00a0<span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">internship<\/span>\u00a0will be to work across the five projects and assist with design and implementation as well as reporting of the projects.<\/p>\n<p>Salary: R5 500 per month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>M&amp;E capturing and analysis<\/li>\n<li>Data capturing<\/li>\n<li>Transcription<\/li>\n<li>Minute taking<\/li>\n<li>Community interviewing\/ facilitation<\/li>\n<li>Desktop research<\/li>\n<li>Field work<\/li>\n<li>Adhoc\u00a0tasks like: Scanning, filing, printing and archiving<\/li>\n<li>Additional tasks as needed per BIS programme within reason<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility to be reassigned where operationally needed within IJR<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements\/skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Honour\u2019s degree (or in the process of completing Honour\u2019s degree) in Humanities, Social Science, politics or <span id=\"IL_AD8\" class=\"IL_AD\">related<\/span> disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge how to operate audio-visual gadgets<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of grassroots communities in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Strong writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Computer\u00a0literacy in all aspects of MS Office<\/li>\n<li>General Administrative Skills<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter and <span id=\"IL_AD9\" class=\"IL_AD\">ability<\/span> to use initiative and judgment<\/li>\n<li>Time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in minimum of two of the eleven official languages in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Confident and time conscious;<\/li>\n<li>Aware of socio-political issues in South Africa;<\/li>\n<li>Pro-active, responsible and accountable<\/li>\n<li>Interest in gaining <span id=\"IL_AD5\" class=\"IL_AD\">work experience<\/span> and career development in the civil society sector.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in issues of reconciliation and justice and all areas related to the transitional justice and peacebuilding field.
