Agri Communication Trainee Opportunity 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the role is to develop and maintain <span id=\"IL_AD3\" class=\"IL_AD\">application<\/span> programs using a specified programming language (e.g. C+, Natural) with the focus on automation and business efficiency.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the detailed program design and implementation plan, received from a senior system builder or technical team lead, to develop programs (e.g. <span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">Cobol<\/span>, Java, .net) that accommodates automated output according to Absa Standards with focus on automation, error handling and presentation of output.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop unit test plans, in order to record expected test results during unit testing, by analysing the business <span id=\"IL_AD2\" class=\"IL_AD\">requirements<\/span> <span id=\"IL_AD5\" class=\"IL_AD\">document<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct unit testing as specified in the unit test plan and document the outcomes in order to ensure that the code developed is error <span id=\"IL_AD4\" class=\"IL_AD\">free<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span id=\"IL_AD10\" class=\"IL_AD\">Inform<\/span> and update the System Developer or technical team lead on the status of all escalated service problems (Severity 1) or outages when they occur and until they are resolved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend relevant project progress review sessions and provide feedback when required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Insert comments in the program code in order to facilitate maintenance of the application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Create documentation (e.g. maintenance guide) for all new projects and store the completed documentation in an appropriate repository (e.g. a share point site or central server).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Competencies<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working with procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>General<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The appointment will be made in line with the Divisional Employment Equity strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"subtitle\">Essential\/Basic <span id=\"IL_AD1\" class=\"IL_AD\">Qualifications<\/span><\/span><span class=\"blockpanel\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NQF Level 5: Three (3)-year National Diploma\/Higher Certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant diploma or higher certificate in computer science or information technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Essential Experience: Not applicable &#8211; this position is an <span id=\"IL_AD9\" class=\"IL_AD\">entry-level<\/span> graduate position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>No previous work experience is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Preferred Experience: One (1)+ Year experience in an application development environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>No <span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">Criminal Record<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span id=\"requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID1813.row1\" class=\"subtitle\" title=\"\">Preferred Qualifications<\/span><span class=\"blockpanel\"><span
