\nStart Date: 1 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nThe Premier\u2019s Advancement of Youth (PAY) project will provide matriculants from the class of 2016 with work experience and training in one of the 13 Western Cape Government Departments beginning 1 April 2017 until 31 March 2018. During this time you will receive a monthly stipend to cover your expenses.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 You have written the National Senior Certificate (NSC) in 2016, and only applicants who passed the final examinations will be considered; \u2022 You are not going to study further in 2017; \u2022 You are a South African citizen, residing in the Western Cape Province; \u2022 You are between the ages of 18 and 24; \u2022 You are not sure of the next step after school.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 You have no network or support to help you make career choices; \u2022 You are financially constrained.<\/p>\n
\nOn-the-job training will be provided in the following departments: \u2022 Department of the Premier; \u2022 Department of Agriculture; \u2022 Department of Community Safety; \u2022 Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport; \u2022 Department of Economic Development and Tourism; \u2022 Department of Environmental Affairs & Development Planning; \u2022 Department of Health;
\n\u2022 Department of Human Settlements; \u2022 Department of Local Government; \u2022 Department of Social Development; \u2022 Department of Transport and Public Works; \u2022 Provincial Treasury;
\n\u2022 Western Cape Education Department (WCED).<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Good communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape; \u2022 Proven computer literacy (MS Office); \u2022 Ability to operate office equipment;
\n\u2022 Planning and organising skills.<\/p>\n
