The program is designed to accelerate participants\u2019 professional development with intense technical training and a variety of business-critical assignments. Graduates have the technical\/business foundation to proactively\/continually make innovative contributions to GE\u2019s future. If you love technology and want a career in engineering, the EEDP is for you.<\/div>\n<div>This oppoerunity is available within the GE Power business, a leader in power generation with deep domain expertise that helps customers deliver electricity from a wide spectrum of fuel sources.<\/div>\n<div><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan and perform assigned <span id=\"IL_AD5\" class=\"IL_AD\">tasks<\/span> within the framework of areas\u2019 schedules, budget, quality and cost constraints while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate ability to understand and apply engineering fundamentals in the <span id=\"IL_AD9\" class=\"IL_AD\">business environment<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate analytical \/ problem solving through number orientation<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with manager in setting realistic and challenging operation goals<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to their accomplishment<\/li>\n<li>Propose new analyses, techniques and methodologies with respect to specific area of responsibility where applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Honours <span id=\"IL_AD8\" class=\"IL_AD\">Bachelor of Science<\/span> Degree in Engineering; Majors in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Aero or Materials only will be considered.<\/li>\n<li>70% aggregate on final year results<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of advanced mathematics, including calculus and differential equations.<\/li>\n<li>Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering, manufacturing, or<span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">computer<\/span> science\/computer engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Experience writing technical reports.<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to relocate as <span id=\"IL_AD10\" class=\"IL_AD\">business needs<\/span> <span id=\"IL_AD4\" class=\"IL_AD\">change<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong><span id=\"IL_AD1\" class=\"IL_AD\">Desired<\/span> Characteristics<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic understanding of engineering and\/or manufacturing fundamentals<\/li>\n<li>Strong oral and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>High self-confidence<\/li>\n<li>Ability to motivate others<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated scholastic achievements<\/li>\n<li>Majoring in Mechanical Engineering or <span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">Electrical Engineering<\/span>, that have prior intern, co-op, or research experience in an engineering environment<\/li>\n<li>Strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering.<\/li>\n<li><span id=\"IL_AD3\" class=\"IL_AD\">Candidate<\/span> has demonstrated an analytic approach to problem solving and that have demonstrated leadership skills, community involvement, and a passion for technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/xjobs.brassring.com\/tgwebhost\/jobdetails.aspx?partnerid=54&amp;siteid=5346&amp;jobid=1336047&amp;codes=Indeed\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here to apply online<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>General Electric South Africa invite applications for the\u00a0Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP), one os its six corporate entry level programs.
