This drive for innovation is spearheaded by our digital operations department. We are at the core of where travel and technology meet, forging a path of ground-breaking discovery involving the development of a wide array of technologies. From robust systems used daily by our consultants to customer-facing websites and interactive documentation &#8211; we strive to bridge the gap between our customers and our consultants.<\/p>\n<p>To make sure that our innovations are in sync with the best and brightest young minds in the industry, we have created the unique\u00a0<b>Rhino Africa tech <span id=\"IL_AD5\" class=\"IL_AD\">internship<\/span>programmes<\/b>. These four-to-six-month programmes are designed to inject fresh perspective, new ideas, and youthful energy into our ever-evolving workplace, while simultaneously helping interns develop their own skills and an understanding of how technological innovation works in the travel industry.<\/p>\n<p>Tech <span id=\"IL_AD10\" class=\"IL_AD\">internships<\/span> are available in all of the roles listed below, offering opportunities in:<\/p>\n<p><b>End user support<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interacting with our user base to understand the way the people work on our platform and to identify their problems<\/li>\n<li>Assisting in creating and understanding end-user goals for our platform<\/li>\n<li>Providing users with advice and solutions on how to get the most from the platform and solving any queries related to the platform<\/li>\n<li>Logging and monitoring customer questions, issues and problems through to their resolution<\/li>\n<li>Participating in creating quantitative and qualitative reports and presentations<\/li>\n<li>Providing system users with positive feedback to their problems and striving to help system users become more confident using the system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Quality assurance<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performing regression, integration and system testing of functionalities and features<\/li>\n<li>Writing detailed test cases, executing testing based on test cases, and testing \u2018point of view\u2019 (from the perspective of different users)<\/li>\n<li>Documenting and tracking testing results, as well as log issues found during testing, through JIRA<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the development team in debugging and replicating issues<\/li>\n<li>Identifying problematic items early in the specification phase so that corrective action can be taken prior to development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Programming, testing and architecture development (PHP, JS, HTML, CSS)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Testing our code and IT products<\/li>\n<li>Designing automatic unit testing<\/li>\n<li>Developing basic architectures<\/li>\n<li>Documenting processes along the way<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>IT product development<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating product <span id=\"IL_AD3\" class=\"IL_AD\">requirements<\/span> and specifications of new functionalities and features while using a defined product document <span id=\"IL_AD9\" class=\"IL_AD\">template<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Working with the product development team and being actively involved in the prototyping phase of potential new features<\/li>\n<li>Helping with the creation of mockups and wireframes with Lucid Charts<\/li>\n<li>Participating in and contributing to concept development rounds, while also coming up with new solutions as part of the team<\/li>\n<li>Working closely with system administrators to ensure data quality and integrity within the platform<\/li>\n<li>Improving processes within the product development team by analysing and identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Business process analysis<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Writing internal process documentation \u2013 BPMN <span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">diagrams<\/span> with Lucid Charts<\/li>\n<li>Defining, measuring, and analysing new processes within the platform<\/li>\n<li>Utilising continuous improvement best practices<\/li>\n<li>Developing processes to accurately track performance within the platform<\/li>\n<li>Conducting analysis and reporting on specific operational and efficiency issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Product analytics<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Analysing, crushing and mining massive amounts of data to <span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">extract<\/span> useful insights to improve the platform<\/li>\n<li>Working with our Business Intelligence team to identify and understand various data sources and to identify related data quality issues<\/li>\n<li>Delivering regular reporting on key metrics and product release\/change impacts<\/li>\n<li>Performing ad-hoc queries, developing and implementing metrics definitions as needed<\/li>\n<li>Leveraging strategic thought to turn insights into actionable product deliverables<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Benefits\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>The Rhino Cafe:<\/b> whether it\u2019s the life-giving cappuccinos or sinfully satisfying meals, the chefs at Rhino Caf\u00e9 are on hand to give you the fuel injection you need to keep going.
