{"id":35237,"date":"2017-02-08T10:28:40","date_gmt":"2017-02-08T08:28:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=35237"},"modified":"2017-02-08T10:28:40","modified_gmt":"2017-02-08T08:28:40","slug":"applications-open-y-acadamey-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/applications-open-y-acadamey-2017.html","title":{"rendered":"Applications Open for Y Acadamey 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Y Academy is the most ambitious training and development program ever put together by any media house, in South Africa or anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s an intensive six-month skills development program that is <span id=\"IL_AD2\" class=\"IL_AD\">accredited<\/span> by the MICT-SETA in partnership with ETV, eAcademy and Sabido.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates learn how to produce content, how to conduct interviews, <span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">how to write<\/span>news bulletins, how to <span id=\"IL_AD5\" class=\"IL_AD\">select<\/span> and schedule music, how to produce promotional clips, how to market events and how to sell advertisements.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of it all candidates have an opportunity to get behind the microphone to show the world what they are made of.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Y Academy program runs for 6 months, and is based at the YFM studios in Hyde Park, Gauteng.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants that wish to apply must be unemployed South African citizens over the age of 18 years and must have a valid South African identity document.<\/li>\n<li>This is an equal opportunity initiative therefore people living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.<\/li>\n<li>The hours of the skills development program are 08:30 &#8211; 17:30, everyday, including weekends and public holidays if need be.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates that live outside of Gauteng must be willing to relocate at their own cost for at least 6 months.<\/li>\n<li>A minimal stipend will be paid to cover local transport costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you fit the above criteria and feel that you have the minerals to be the next radio rock star. <span id=\"IL_AD1\" class=\"IL_AD\">Apply now<\/span>!<\/p>\n<div class=\"smalltxt\">Successful applicants will be expected to <span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">sign<\/span> contracts binding them to YFM\u2019s workplace rules, the YFM disciplinary code, and the Broadcasting Code of Conduct.<\/div>\n<div class=\"smalltxt\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"smalltxt\">Successful applicants will receive a small stipend to supplement their travel and accommodation.<\/div>\n<div class=\"smalltxt\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"smalltxt\">The Y-Academy is a skills development program and not an offer of employment.
