{"id":35245,"date":"2017-02-08T10:46:42","date_gmt":"2017-02-08T08:46:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=35245"},"modified":"2017-02-08T10:46:42","modified_gmt":"2017-02-08T08:46:42","slug":"thuthuka-bursary-fund-2018-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/thuthuka-bursary-fund-2018-2.html","title":{"rendered":"Thuthuka Bursary Fund 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the project is to annually place between 250 &#8211; 300 fully bursared Black African and Coloured students at selected SAICA-accredited universities in cohorts of 50 per university on special undergraduate BCom Accounting education programmes.<\/p>\n<p>The accredited universities that are part of the programme are the University of KwaZulu-Natal, University of Johannesburg, Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria, University of Cape Town, Free State University and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.<\/p>\n<p>The Thuthuka Bursary Fund is looking for academically strong learners who aspire to become Chartered Accountants.<\/p>\n<p>Students who do exceptionally well in Mathematics and have excellent marks in the other subject to qualify for university entrance may apply.<\/p>\n<p><u>Do you qualify?<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do you have 60% in Mathematics in your Grade 11 Final Results (Level 5)?<\/li>\n<li>Do you have enough points to qualify for university entrance?<\/li>\n<li>Do you come from a family that cannot support you financially at tertiary?<\/li>\n<li>Are you an African or Coloured learner?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you answered YES to all the questions above, then you qualify.<\/p>\n<p><u>Requirements for application of the Thuthuka bursary<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Aspiring CA(SA) learners who wish to apply for the bursary must: Be a South African Citizen<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have obtained at least 60% (five or above on the NSC Scale of Achievement) in Mathematics (NOT Maths Literacy) in Grade 11<\/li>\n<li>The learner must be a South African Citizen<\/li>\n<li>Be in Grade 12 and applied (or be in the process of applying) for a BCom Accounting degree at a SAICA-accredited university offering the Thuthuka programme<\/li>\n<li>Be African or Coloured<\/li>\n<li>The learner must not be out of Matric\/school for more than 2 years.<\/li>\n<li>To be considered for the Thuthuka Bursary Fund, you are required to register and write the National Benchmark Test (NBT).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Process of Awarding a Bursary<\/p>\n<p>The application must have met the above criteria<\/p>\n<p><u>The learner must have or be in the process of applying to one of the following tertiary institutions:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University of Johannesburg<\/li>\n<li>University of Cape Town (Bachelor of Commerce code CB011 )<\/li>\n<li>Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University<\/li>\n<li>Rhodes University<\/li>\n<li>Stellenbosch University<\/li>\n<li>University of Pretoria<\/li>\n<li>University of the Free State<\/li>\n<li>University of Witwatersrand (WITS)<\/li>\n<li>North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>If you tick all these boxes, apply in one of the following ways:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Download the Thuthuka Bursary Fund application form BELOW, complete it and email it to <a href=\"mailto:jane@saica.co.za\">jane@saica.co.za<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:saica@saica.co.za\">saica@saica.co.za<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Request an application form by calling 086 107 2422.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for 2018 close on 30 April 2017<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saica.co.za\/Portals\/0\/LearnersStudents\/Thuthuka\/BursaryFundApplication.pdf\" target=\"_new\"><u><strong>Click Here to DOWNLOAD APPLICATION<\/strong><\/u><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the project is to annually place between 250 &#8211; 300 fully bursared Black African and Coloured students at selected SAICA-accredited universities in cohorts of 50 per university&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[334],"tags":[2220],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
