Candidates should have an aptitude for the relevant trade and show a keen interest in developing skills. If you are a team player with the relevant Trade related knowledge and good written &amp; verbal communication skills then you are an ideal candidate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nAcquire knowledge and skills of Artisan in your designated trade<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acquire Trade Test Certificate in the trade for which training received.<\/li>\n<li>Take advantage of Training opportunities offered to learn a trade.<\/li>\n<li>Health Safety &amp; Environment awareness<\/li>\n<li>Process Plant &amp; Equipment Maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Performs plant and equipment maintenance, shutdown and turnaround activities.<\/li>\n<li>Routine Maintenance of Refinery Equipment<\/li>\n<li>Breakdown repairs to Refinery equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, work instructions, guidelines, regulations \/ legislation and programs &amp; proactive action to identify and correct potential unsafe conditions and acts<\/li>\n<li>Exhibits understanding of company business.<\/li>\n<li>Effective written and verbal communication etiquette between individuals, refinery and Training Providers.<\/li>\n<li>Work effectively with others to successfully complete maintenance activities and objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Code 8 Driver\u2019s Licence will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>An N2 in Fitting, Electrical or Instrumentation would be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Attributes<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Knowledge<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>An interest in maintenance activities in the relevant trade<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of refinery process and the importance of maintenance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Willingness to learn<\/li>\n<li>Working safely in a hazardous environment.<\/li>\n<li>Communication.<\/li>\n<li>Teamwork<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving and trouble shooting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Attributes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Require fitness and strength to climb ladders and stairs, work at height and in confined spaces<\/li>\n<li>Responding and handling emergencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How To Apply<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/engen.erecruit.co.za\/candidateapp\/Jobs\/View\/170210-1\/Apprentice\">Apply Online for the Engen Apprenticeship Programme<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Closing Date: 24 February 2017 Location: Durban Offering a great opportunity for Candidates to train as Apprentices and qualify as Artisans in the trades of Fitting, Electrical or Instrumentation.
