SAFCOL (South African Forestry Company Limited) is the third largest state-owned forestry company in South Africa, under the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) with operations in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Kwa Zulu Natal, as well as in the northern parts of Mozambique.<\/div>\n
SAFCOL\u2019s mandate is; to conduct forestry business which includes timber harvesting, timber processing and related activities, both domestically and internationally.<\/div>\n
Through our operations we employ about 5000 people through direct and indirect employment and by extension, are responsible for about 20 000 lives in communities adjacent our operations.<\/div>\n
Applications<\/span> are invited from unemployed youth (18-35) who wish to pursue a career in Forestry.<\/p>\n

Succesful applicants will be granted an opportunity to participate in a formal one year General Forestry Learnship Programme<\/span>.<\/div>\n

Successful applicants will be granted an opportunity to participate in a formal one year learnership programme (SAQA- accredited<\/span>, NQF Level 1) General Education<\/span> and Training Certificate in Forestry. It will consist of accredited theoretical and practical classroom training and practical training consisting of Research, Nursery, Silviculture and Harvesting operations.<\/div>\n
Learners will be based at SAFCOL’s operation, platora Training Centre, Sabie area in Mpumalanga Province.<\/div>\n
Learners will receive a monthly<\/span> stipend for the duration of the Learnership.<\/div>\n
Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals, people living with disability, black females and youth from communities with which SAFCOL has signed a social compact.<\/div>\n
