It was established in 1996 by the main trade union federations in South Africa, to help build a strong trade union movement.<\/p>\n<p>DITSELA is a section 21, not for profit organisation, core funded by the Department of Labour through its Strengthening the Civil Society Fund. It also receives limited <span id=\"IL_AD1\" class=\"IL_AD\">programme<\/span> specific funding from the ETDP Seta and other funders.<\/p>\n<div>DITSELA has full time staff members of 17, of which fifteen are in the National office in Johannesburg and two based in the Western Cape office, in Bellville.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Institute seeks to urgently fill <span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">the post<\/span> of the Junior Research Intern is based at its Head Office in the Johannesburg CBD.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Junior Researcher <span id=\"IL_AD4\" class=\"IL_AD\">Internship<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>JOB <span id=\"IL_AD8\" class=\"IL_AD\">OVERVIEW<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work under the general supervision of the senior researcher and programme manager on Ditsela\u2019s research projects.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in research and analyse a range of Ditsela Education and learning materials on issues and strategies in relation to Labour Movement.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct desktop and field research and investigation work. Ensure accurate and professional research tasks are delivered timely. Provide timely information relevant to the projects. Prepare research materials and publications<\/li>\n<li>Research and collects data through complex techniques and procedures, library research, structured interviews or other project specific methodology<\/li>\n<li>Schedules, organizes and reports on status of research activities<\/li>\n<li>Writes and edits materials for publication and presentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">Requirements<\/span> and Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in <span id=\"IL_AD3\" class=\"IL_AD\">Social Science<\/span>, Education, and or Labour Studies<\/li>\n<li>Subject knowledge and oral\/written communication skills to discuss and document research progress.
