It was established in 1996 by the main trade union federations in South Africa, to help build a strong trade union movement.<\/p>\n<p>DITSELA is a section 21, not for profit organisation, core funded by the Department of Labour through its Strengthening the Civil Society Fund. It also receives limited <span id=\"IL_AD1\" class=\"IL_AD\">programme<\/span> specific funding from the ETDP Seta and other funders.<\/p>\n<p>DITSELA has full time staff members of 17, of which fifteen are in the National office in Johannesburg and two based in the Western Cape office, in Bellville.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute seeks to urgently fill the post of Research Intern that is based at its Head Office in the Johannesburg CBD.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To undertake research associated with the development and implementation of new Ditsela programmes and\/or research in the areas of <em>(i) Qualification and curriculum content development and\u00a0 material and (ii)\u00a0 Develop and <\/em>Assess Learning<em>\u00a0 and (iii) community care workers and labour dynamics, <\/em>as well as research that is relevant to the Ditsela constituencies<\/li>\n<li>To ensure the facilitation of <span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">high quality<\/span> research within the overall remit of the Ditsela overall strategy<\/li>\n<li>Assist in aligning existing Ditsela\u2019s education and learning materials to standards of <span id=\"IL_AD5\" class=\"IL_AD\">accredited<\/span> learning programmes in trade union education ( also looking at non formal education)<\/li>\n<li>Participate in designing and developing of quality education materials<\/li>\n<li>Project manage various phases of the Ditsela\u2019s course development life cycle including needs analysis, requirements gathering, course development, course and evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Designing and applying appropriate assessment, moderation and <span id=\"IL_AD8\" class=\"IL_AD\">verification<\/span>tools<\/li>\n<li>Developing , implementing, Monitoring and Evaluation systems in all areas<\/li>\n<li>In collaboration with programme team coordinate the work of Junior researchers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements and Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span id=\"IL_AD4\" class=\"IL_AD\">Masters<\/span> in <span id=\"IL_AD3\" class=\"IL_AD\">Social Science<\/span>, Education, labour relations or any related field<\/li>\n<li>Ability to lead a project \u2013 (planning, coordination, communication\u00a0 and delegation skills are essential<\/li>\n<li>Well-developed interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders from training institutions, programme staff and labour movement<\/li>\n<li>Ability to function in a team<\/li>\n<li>Initiative and ability to work independently<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with diversity<\/li>\n<li>Critical thinking and problem solving skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0398974026399434\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-ad-slot=\"5885050342\" data-adsbygoogle-status=\"done\"><\/ins><ins id=\"aswift_5_expand\"><\/ins><ins id=\"aswift_5_anchor\"><\/ins><span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">Applicants<\/span> must submit their CV &amp; <span id=\"IL_AD2\" class=\"IL_AD\">Cover Letter<\/span> to: <b><a href=\"mailto:viwe@ditsela.org.za\">viwe@ditsela.org.za<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing Date: 24 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DITSELA is the Development Institute for Training, Support and Education for Labour.
