{"id":35875,"date":"2017-04-03T12:44:12","date_gmt":"2017-04-03T10:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=35875"},"modified":"2017-04-03T12:44:12","modified_gmt":"2017-04-03T10:44:12","slug":"japan-scholarship-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/japan-scholarship-2017.html","title":{"rendered":"Japan Scholarship 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Global Science Course was designed to create a platform enhancing cross-cultural interaction among young minds from around the world coming together to learn science at the University of Tokyo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE UNIVERSITY OF TOKYO: SCHOOL OF SCIENCE (GLOBAL SCIENCE COURSE &#8211; GSC) TRANSFER PROGRAM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GSC offers a unique opportunity for international student to pursue studies at the Faculty of Science where Japanese language proficiency is not a requirement as the whole course will be taught in English.<\/p>\n<p>The Global Science Course was designed to create a platform enhancing cross-cultural interaction among young minds from around the world coming together to learn science at the University of Tokyo.<\/p>\n<p>GSC offers a unique opportunity for international student to pursue studies at the Faculty of Science where Japanese language proficiency is not a requirement as the whole course will be taught in English.<\/p>\n<p>Prospective students must have successfully completed or will be completing their first two years in an undergraduate program at an accredited higher educational institution (outside Japan) before enrolling into GSC<\/p>\n<p><strong>Degree level<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students who have completed two years of their undergraduate programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadlines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications are open between 10 January \u2013 7 April 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of first two years of undergraduate studies,<\/li>\n<li>Secondary and tertiary education received outside of Japan,<\/li>\n<li>English language proficiency,<\/li>\n<li>Basic undergraduate Science knowledge,<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 62 credits gained before enrolment (corresponding to the University of Tokyo credit system)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Fields of Study<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chemistry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What the Scholarship offers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 150, 000 Japanese Yen per month for tuition fees and allowance,<br \/>\n\u2022 The University of Tokyo International Lodge or private housing will be arranged by the University with monthly rent fully paid,<br \/>\n\u2022 Student tutors to help transfer students get accustomed to their lives in Tokyo,<br \/>\n\u2022 Japanese language classes twice a week to help students overcome the language barrier in their everyday lives.
