Trade & Industrial Policy Strategies (TIPS) is a not-for-profit, research organisation based in Pretoria, South Africa. Established at the request of senior policy-makers of the new South African Government in 1996, the organisation facilitates policy development and dialogue in pursuit of sustainable and inclusive growth in South Africa and the Southern African region.<\/div>\n

TIPS has three main focus areas: Trade and Industrial Policy, Inequality and Economic Inclusion and Sustainable Growth. Its working model integrates research and analysis, policy development, disseminating information, capacity building, technical support, and programme<\/span> design and management.<\/div>\n

TIPS has one intern position available for\u00a0an International Student<\/span>\u00a0(recently or about to graduate at masters<\/span> level) that is looking to do work in South Africa in the field of Industrial Development.<\/p>\n

The internship<\/span> post is available for either a period of six or 12 months and remuneration will cover basic costs of living in South Africa.<\/p>\n

Successful candidates will need to cover their own travel to and from South Africa; and obtain the necessary visa.<\/p>\n

The expected\u00a0start date is 1 August 2017 (negotiable).<\/p>\n

The aim of the internship is to give young researchers the opportunity to acquire work experience, improve their research skills and enhance their understanding of the South African economy.\u00a0 The internship is structured to give exposure to issues of industrial development, trade and the green economy as well as work on policy orientated projects.
