The Durban ICC is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Research and Administration assistant within the context of the Marketing, Sales and Events Department of the Durban ICC.<\/p>\n
The incumbent will be required to perform tasks supporting the marketing research and business development function within the Durban ICC which is a 24 hour business.<\/p>\n
The incumbent will report directly to the Marketing and Sales Manager or appointed representative. The graduate must have completed their qualification within the past twenty-four months.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES\u00a0<\/b>

\nMinimum Qualifications\u00a0<\/b>
\n\u2022 University degree \/ Diploma or similar tertiary certification in Administration Management \/ Research.
\n\u2022 Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook)
\nExperience and knowledge required
\n\u2022 Excellent command of the English language.
\n\u2022 Excellent writing and communication skills.
\n\u2022 Excellent guest relations skills.
\n\u2022 Switchboard experience advantageous.
\n\u2022 Reception \/ Information Desk experience advantageous.
\n\u2022 Research experience advantageous.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Mining data from business tourism, corporate & government publications and websites to create sales leads for Marketing & Sales team.
\n\u2022 Assist with research and pre-scheduling of appointments for International and National Trade Shows.
\n\u2022 Compile information for the structuring of bid proposals and presentations.
\n\u2022 Developing information management structures within the context of the EBMS system to support the organisation’s CRM activities.
\n\u2022 Ensuring that the database of potential and existing clients of the organisation is kept up to date and relevant to the sales and marketing activities of the organisation.
\n\u2022 Preparing and presenting relevant reports to support the strategic decision making processes of the organisation with particular focus on business conversion.
\n\u2022 To make a positive contribution to the growth in sales revenue resulting in the positioning of the Centre as a preferred destination for international and national conferences, exhibitions and events.
\n\u2022 Welcome visitors, establish the nature of their business and direct them to the appropriate individual.
\n\u2022 Ensures knowledge of events taking place in the venue to be able to satisfy basic client queries.
\n\u2022 Provide concierge services to guests attending conferences and events.
\n\u2022 Assists with guest relations regarding feedback from clients and guests.
\n\u2022 Conducts site tours for the Durban ICC complex when requested.
\n\u2022 Handles telephonic enquiries for Marketing, Sales and Events.
