{"id":37579,"date":"2017-09-13T12:03:42","date_gmt":"2017-09-13T10:03:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=37579"},"modified":"2017-09-13T12:03:42","modified_gmt":"2017-09-13T10:03:42","slug":"post-graduate-studies-bursaries-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/post-graduate-studies-bursaries-2018.html","title":{"rendered":"Post-Graduate Studies Bursaries 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Potato Industry Development Trust, through Potatoes South Africa, provides bursaries to diploma, undergraduate and post graduate students studying agriculture at a tertiary institution in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The Potato Industry Development Trust (PIDT) invites applications from students who wish to pursue their post graduate studies in the field of Agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>Applications from students who have an interest in pursuing a research in a potato related field will receive priority.<\/p>\n<p><u>Students with a good academic standing and who wish to further their studies can request an application form from\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:transformation@potatoes.co.za\">transformation@potatoes.co.za<\/a>\u00a0or may download the application form:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The closing date for applications is 31 October 2017 and students who have not been contacted by the 31st of January 2018 must regard their application as being unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>The Potato Industry Development Trust, through Potatoes South Africa, provides bursaries to diploma, undergraduate and post graduate students studying agriculture at a tertiary institution in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><u>The primary goals for providing these bursaries are as follows:<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Diploma and undergraduate studies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide talented young students the opportunity to develop their skills and thereby enhance the technical capacity of these enterprises.<\/li>\n<li>To provide other deserving students who wish to enter the agricultural industry the opportunity to obtain an appropriate qualification and develop technical skills to find employment in the industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Postgraduate studies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To make a contribution towards ensuring that well qualified scientists are developed to address the research needs of the potato industry.<\/li>\n<li>To increase the potato industry&#8217;s pool of knowledge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who can apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Diploma and undergraduate studies<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Second year students in the field of agriculture.<\/li>\n<li>Students with excellent academic standing.<\/li>\n<li>South African citizens.<\/li>\n<li>Must provide official proof of registration at a South African tertiary institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Postgraduate studies<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Honours, Masters and PhD students in the field of agriculture &#8211; potatoes.
