{"id":37638,"date":"2017-09-19T11:40:14","date_gmt":"2017-09-19T09:40:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=37638"},"modified":"2017-09-19T11:40:14","modified_gmt":"2017-09-19T09:40:14","slug":"athenaeum-council-internship-opportunity-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/athenaeum-council-internship-opportunity-2017.html","title":{"rendered":"The Athenaeum Council Internship Opportunity 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The \u2018Grand Old Lady\u2019 of the city, the Athen\u00e6um, is the community hub for the emerging creative industry in Nelson Mandela Bay.<br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0398974026399434\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-ad-slot=\"5885050342\" data-adsbygoogle-status=\"done\"><\/ins><ins id=\"aswift_5_expand\"><\/ins><ins id=\"aswift_5_anchor\"><\/ins>Home of the colourful Little Theatre, this multi-purpose venue offers a diverse space for live performances, exhibitions, events, conferences, workshops, meetings, showcases and launches.<\/p>\n<p>The Athenaeum Council invites applications for a 12-month internship position.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>The areas in which the intern will gain experience include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arts administration,<\/li>\n<li>Curatorial practice,<\/li>\n<li>Marketing and communications,<\/li>\n<li>Project Management relating more specifically to: activities and services which support the arts sector, involving projects and initiatives provided by the Little Theatres, Gallery space and Workshop and Conference venues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grow and develop a positive attitude and enhance image of the Athenaeum.<\/li>\n<li>Apply knowledge, skills and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently.<\/li>\n<li>Learn and draw inspiration from the youth.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure continuity and sustainability of projects.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the visual industry database Coordinate art exhibitions and workshops.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with events and client liaison<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>National Diploma in Fine Art \/ Marketing \/ PR &amp; Communication<\/li>\n<li>A short CV<\/li>\n<li>A motivation Letter<\/li>\n<li>A copy of ID \/ Passport \u2013 Certified and dated September<\/li>\n<li>Copies of certificates \u2013 Certified and dated September<\/li>\n<li>Contact details of 2 references<\/li>\n<li>Your contact details<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Submission deadline is 29 September at 4PM.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Please email your applications or queries to\u00a0<span class=\"link-mailto\"><a href=\"mailto:manager@theathenaeum.co.za\">manager@theathenaeum.co.za<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"link-mailto\"><br \/>\n<\/span>The shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview during the first week of October 2017.<br \/>\nNo late or incomplete applications will be considered.
