The purpose of the job is to assist with Facilities Maintenance and repairs in any of the following fields: Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry.<br \/>\n<strong>Handyman Intern &#8211; Robben Island Museum<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inspect the quality of work done by service providers on maintenance projects and ensure quality of works is adhered to;<\/li>\n<li>Documentation filing;<\/li>\n<li>Draw up and submit Specifications for maintenance and repair;<\/li>\n<li>Inspections and Condition assessments;<\/li>\n<li>Carry Out Miscellaneous job related duties as assigned;<\/li>\n<li>Submit minutes, reports to Unit Manager;<\/li>\n<li>Attend site briefings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Handyman with National Certificate N1- N3 Building &amp; Civil Engineering in any of the following fields:\n<ul>\n<li>Plumbing<\/li>\n<li>Electrical<\/li>\n<li>Carpentry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of general building maintenance;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of safety standard regulations;<\/li>\n<li>Computer Literacy;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Building Materials &amp; Specifications;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Quality commitment &amp; work standards;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate well;<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver&#8217;s licence an added advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with common hand and power tools used for maintenance;<\/li>\n<li>Fault Finding;<\/li>\n<li>Repairs;<\/li>\n<li>Servicing;<\/li>\n<li>Judgement;<\/li>\n<li>Decisiveness;<\/li>\n<li>Analysis;<\/li>\n<li>Stress Tolerance;<\/li>\n<li>Adaptability &amp; Flexibility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nForward a detailed CV, accompanied by certified copies your ID and qualification certificates as well as contactable referees, to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment@robbenisland.org.za\">recruitment@robbenisland.org.za<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Closing date:\u00a0<b>13 November 2017<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.robben-island.org.za\/files\/jobs\/Handyman%20Intern-%2012%20months%20Contract%2013%20Nov2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE PDF ADVERT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>RIM is an EE, AA, employer, RIM reserves the right not to make an appointment if suitable candidate are not found.
