{"id":38322,"date":"2017-11-29T10:54:58","date_gmt":"2017-11-29T08:54:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=38322"},"modified":"2017-11-29T10:54:58","modified_gmt":"2017-11-29T08:54:58","slug":"gsk-chemistry-traineeship-programme-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/gsk-chemistry-traineeship-programme-2018.html","title":{"rendered":"GSK: Chemistry Traineeship Programme 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Location: Epping, Western Cape<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3 years diploma in analytical chemistry<\/p>\n<p>Job Purpose:<\/p>\n<p>Analyses products and raw materials for compliance with product or material specifications<\/p>\n<p>Key Performance Area<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Compliance \u2013 Analysis:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Analyses products and materials to ensure compliance to registered specifications.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tests compliance of products (including routine Stability products) and materials as per documented Specifications and Analytical Methods.<\/li>\n<li>Analyses a large range of product types \u2013 tablets, capsules, COLs, suppositories and powder formulations.<\/li>\n<li>Performs analysis using wet chemical techniques and instrumental methods of analysis (HPLC, GC) as applicable.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that applicable SOPs are followed and required records are completed.<\/li>\n<li>Examines samples critically.<\/li>\n<li>Records results as per GLP requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Reviews results for accuracy and reports any anomalies to Supervisor or Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Implements OOS procedure where necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Performs `peer review\u2019 of analytical raw data as required by Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Samples and test compliance of Site systems (Purified water, gasses, steam, etc.) as per documented procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Compliance GLP &amp; QMS<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Complies with the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice and the requirements of the applicable GSK QMS Policies..<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensures cleanliness of working and surrounding area.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that documentation is performed in the demarcated areas and that chemical analysis is performed on the workbenches.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that documentation (specifications, etc.) is protected form damage by chemical, water, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures preparation and storage of reagents as per SOPs.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that chemicals and supplies are ordered timeously.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that SOPs in use are current and notifies the Manager of any out-of-date procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares SOPs as required by the Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Verifies the calibration status of equipment as required by the Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Performs maintenance of equipment as required by the Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Completes appropriate equipment logs after usage, verification and maintenance.<\/li>\n<li>Assists with the validation of equipment as required by the Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Performs system monitoring (eg.
