Doctors without Borders (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation committed to two objectives: providing medical assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion, natural and man-made disasters; and speaking out about the plight of the populations assisted.

MSF currently supports treatment for over 200,000 people living with HIV in 19 countries, with a focus on free quality care, including innovative approaches to testing and linkage to treatment, improved adherence support, differentiated models of care and the prevention and treatment of advanced HIV.

Within the HIV environment, MSF advocates for continued equitable funding of the HIV response. By the end of 2016, MSF was providing first line antiretrovirals to 222,200 patients and second-line antiretrovirals to 10,200 patients. MSF also directly provides or supports the provision of free hospital-based care for the treatment of AIDS in four hospitals in sub-Saharan Africa.
