{"id":38781,"date":"2018-01-17T17:55:19","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T15:55:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=38781"},"modified":"2018-01-17T17:55:19","modified_gmt":"2018-01-17T15:55:19","slug":"2018-junior-organiser-internship-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/2018-junior-organiser-internship-programme.html","title":{"rendered":"2018 Junior Organiser Internship Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"introtext\">\n<p>Equal Education\u2019s Junior Organiser (JO) Internship Programme is for young people who are passionate about being leaders within and outside of their communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Through the program, aspiring young activists develop leadership, facilitation, community organising and communication skills.<\/p>\n<p>During the internship, JO\u2019s will be involved in running Youth Groups; youth group is our main platform for engaging and developing equalizers.<\/p>\n<p>The work of a JO will entail: working with a team of facilitators, building strong relationships in communities and schools, participating in and assisting with campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Participants must be energetic, hard-working, self-motivated and team players who are able to adapt to a fast-changing environment,<\/p>\n<p><u>The 2018 JO Internship Programme entails the following:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a one year, full-time, paid internship based in the Youth Department.<\/li>\n<li>Meeting with school and community members to build relationships and involve them in our work.<\/li>\n<li>Each JO will be an integral part of youth groups, which includes working with a team of facilitators and ensuring that logistics around youth groups are taken care of.<\/li>\n<li>Political Education, Leadership Development, and other training workshops.<\/li>\n<li>Representing EE on public and private platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Office hours are 9-5pm. However, JOs work flexible hours (late evenings and weekends).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WHO SHOULD APPLY?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be between ages of 18 \u2013 27.<\/li>\n<li>Post school youth who have relevant experience in facilitating or working with school pupils.<\/li>\n<li>Are able to commit 100% of your time to the organisation.
