Approximately 5 500 people are employed by the group.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Caxton Magazines seeks a\u00a0<b>designer intern\u00a0<\/b>to perform duties as detailed hereunder.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key performance\u00a0<span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">areas<\/span>:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create and design page layout using magazine style guide in relevant design\u00a0<span id=\"IL_AD1\" class=\"IL_AD\">programmes<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to capture the ethos of the magazine in its design and all related brand activity.<\/li>\n<li>Produce professionally designed and presented\u00a0<span id=\"IL_AD5\" class=\"IL_AD\">documents<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Amend layouts, select fonts and integrate with graphics.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure text and images are ready for design as well as to manipulate images for print and digital formats.<\/li>\n<li>Create final PDFs for print digital formats.<\/li>\n<li>Retouching and converting work to appropriate format and colour.<\/li>\n<li>Update websites and assist with managing social accounts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Essential\u00a0<span id=\"IL_AD3\" class=\"IL_AD\">requirements<\/span>:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric.<\/li>\n<li>Degree or diploma in graphic design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Skills:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have design and graphic skills.<\/li>\n<li>Must have practical marketing training.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to use Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and other DTP programs.<\/li>\n<li>Must be detail oriented and possess good interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to apply basic sale techniques and marketing techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to determine\u00a0<span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">customer needs<\/span>\u00a0within area of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to identify market which is served by each product.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Location: Johannesburg<\/div>\n<p>Should the above appeal to you, then kindly submit your CV together with a portfolio to\u00a0Zainab\u00a0<span id=\"IL_AD4\" class=\"IL_AD\">Mohamed<\/span>:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:zainab@caxton.co.za\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>zainab@caxton.co.za<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Founded in 1980 by entrepreneurs Terry Moolman and Noel Coburn, Caxton &amp; CTP Publishers, Printers and\u00a0Distributors\u00a0are a major participant in the South African print media industry.
