PEGASYS Institute is a not-for-profit organization working to find African solutions for African challenges in the fields of natural resources and infrastructure. Intern QUALIFICATIONS<\/span>\u00a0AND EXPERIENCE<\/b> Preferred<\/b> KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES<\/b> PREFERRED CANDIDATE<\/b>
\nOur work focuses on generating ideas,\u00a0advocacy<\/span>, policy, and strategy in the areas of natural resource use, water, climate change and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Full-time position (one-year contract)
\n\u2022 Location \u2013 Pretoria<\/p>\n
\nRequired
\n\u2022 A Master\u2019s degree or Ph.D. in an appropriate field including (but not limited to) Economics, Geography,
\nSocial Sciences, Water & Environmental Science, Engineering, Development Studies, or any other
\nrelevant post-graduate\u00a0qualification<\/span>
\n\u2022 A demonstrable track-record of excellence<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Prior exposure to broader development projects in developing countries, particularly\u00a0South Africa<\/span>\u00a0or Africa
\n\u2022 Demonstrated capacity in report writing<\/p>\n
\nThis role calls for several specific skills and characteristics in the candidate, including:
\n\u2022 Strong work ethic, self-motivated and demonstrable high standards of achievement
\n\u2022 An energetic problem-solver, who is open-minded with multi-perspective views on broader
\ndevelopmental issues, governance, systems, and policies;
\n\u2022 Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, unpredictable work environment
\n\u2022 Adaptive, quick-thinking, and a results-oriented mindset
\n\u2022 Attention to detail, independent, self-driven and highly motivated
\n\u2022 Ability to work towards the desired outcome in a complex and uncertain environment;
\n\u2022 Good time management, with the ability to meet task deadlines within time-frames and budget;
\n\u2022 Excellent oral and\u00a0written<\/span>\u00a0communication skills in\u00a0English<\/span>
\n\u2022 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse teams as well as independently desire to
\ncontribute towards making the world a\u00a0better place<\/span>, and believe that a small group of committed
